F Pace SVR vs X3M Comp

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Saw a youtube video where they weighed it at 4321 lbs (well 1960kg)

same size as X3, but with a Supercharged V8, doesn't make any sense.
How can Jaguar make a lighter car with a bigger engine than BMW?

anyway, on paper the Jag should destroy the X3

550hp vs 503hp
500 tq vs 442tq
F Pace 300 lbs lighter (yeah WTF)

Exterior has always looked great, but not sure about the gray trim parts outside
inside also looks good except old tech (compared to their newer models) and not as good of an infotainment system as BMW.

Price wise its about $4,000 more BUT I bet come fall they will be priced similar out the door...

thoughts?

Its actually depressing, my M3 is turning 4 in September and there really isn't anything I really want to replace it. I used to trade in cars every 3 years. New M3 is 1-2 years away but not sure I want to deal with that again (roads horrible in midwest, flared rear wheels a nightmare with rock chips). I love the performance of the Alfa but need a nicer interior for the price, don't like Mercedes at all, Jaguar has always had tech issues, Audi always underperforms, Porsche is like buying "sony"

X3M at 4300 lbs would have been perfect, if we were talking 100 lbs overweight okay I could deal with it, but 320 lbs is too much. imagine if the next M3 weighs 4,000 lbs (I guess the C63 does and RS5, but BMW is supposed to be known for lighter weight performance cars).

Maybe in 7 years they will think about that for the next X3M

I drove alongside an F-Pace today and damn if it doesn't look HUGE. I know dimensions are basically the same as X3 but it just looks big and tall to me. That plus outdated interior make it a hard pill to swallow for me but can't deny the engine, performance, and aggressive looks.

Important to compare apples to apples, in this case, weight DIN to DIN, or EU to EU.

From Jaguar.co.uk website for F-Pace SVR – Weight (kg) EU – 2,070*; DIN – 1,995**
From BMW specs pdf 2/2019 X3M Competition – Weight (kg) EU – 2045*; DIN - 1,970**

The BMW X3M is 25 kg lighter based on this information, which is all we really have at this point.

*Unladen (EU) - includes a 75kg driver, full fluids and 90% fuel
**Unladen (DIN) - includes full fluids and 90% fuel.

https://www.jaguar.co.uk/jaguar-rang...ons/index.html select SVR, weight - EU and DIN recorded
