I have the evolution racewerks mid pipe. Sounds great. Lot of compliments on the sound. Kept the stock downpipe.

I want to go aa mid pipe, but not sure I’m ready for the loud pops. Will resonated version muffler the pops, and is it still worth it in terms of loudness?

If you have stock downpipes the AA midpipe won’t have rasp. At least mine doesn’t. On the Dynan video posted video it’s like a TTHHHHBBBT sound. When I shift (with ASD off so I can hear it) there’s a loud POP) if I’m getting on the gas. It’s great to do when going under an overpass in traffic. If just accelerating like normal there’s no loud pop, just a nice brisk change in tone as the trans changes gear
I absolutely love my AA midpipe. In the future I may get a different muffler but I’m plenty happy with it for now. I can’t comment on the effect with aftermarket downpipes as mine are stock.

If you add the dinan xpipe to this list is it the full list of midpipe options?

https://www.dinancars.com/products/e...arts/D660-0087

I wasn't aware of the PSI option, does anyone know if that is a single or a dual equal length pipe?

I am looking at options and think I am leaning towards the AA single design for its deeper tone.

No CEL from a midpipe.

PSI does an X pipe. They cut to ship and clamps included. Dinan is just a res delete X pipe. Minimal sound gain.

Akrapovic Exhaust

I went with an Akrapovic exhaust.

Akrapovic 19-20 BMW X3 M/X4 M (F97/F98) w/OPF/GPF Slip-On Line - S-BM/T/10H

E-BM/T/8
Evolution Link pipe set (Titanium)

P-HF1255
Akrapovič Sound Kit

The system sounds amazing and has zero drone, but comes with a big price tag.
Like the sound kit to control the flaps.

OP was asking about a mid pipe. Not a full exhaust system costing more than most used cars

Anybody has first hand experience with the AA vs ER midpipe? Is the ER louder just a different tune whereas the AA keeps a similar tone as stock?

I have the AA resonated mid-pipe and could not be happier. This is how the car should sound from factory. Quiet on comfort, and cold starts sound normal, even more tame than stock. Sport plus sounds amazing, burbles that you can actually hear without lowering your windows, and it sounds amazing when you put your foot down. Also makes the tone a bit deeper.

Thats what I hear a lot of, just wanting to know how that compares to the ER. From I can tell I want a little more sound than AA gives but idk lol

Seems like the majority of people who get the ER aren't happy with how raspy it is, especially with high flow or catless DPs. There are some like like theirs, though.

More like the sound of AA midpipe options (either single or EQ length) but they are more expensive. The EQ is generally louder than the single.

There are similar options on Alibaba/AliExpress too, but everyone gets a little prickly and has different opinions on them. But most of them seem to be solid quality and sound good.

Midpipes are the best way to go louder on the S58 with one upgrade, so you're on the right track.

Best of luck with your search!

I went with ER after hearing about the rasp because by listening to some audio i felt like for my taste is was fine, it didn't disappoint. But, it's subjective, i'm personally not liking the way the equal length mid's are sounding but it seems that most are, so what does that mean, nothing! Any of the options though do change the exhaust note and seem like the go to initial exhaust mod.
