It seems to, based on a different spring rate in the rear and different software (just a guess based on others' feedback). Regardless, ride quality is highly subjective and it seems like OP is just interested in lowering.

Question H.A.S versus Sport Spring Set Difference on Electronic Dampening

I got my 2021 X6M COMP and very happy with it . I am pretty new to this Forum. I have been looking for the right option to lower my car.

I cant find how a HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SPRING KIT Part No 253200ED keeps the Electronic dampening of the car and not the inexpensive H&R SPORT SPRING SET (28627-1).

H.A.S. HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SPRING KIT states that it will utilize the electronic dampers and also states that “All driver assistance systems and comfort features of a factory adaptive or electronic suspension remain operational and work harmoniously with this vehicle-specific spring set up.”

The inexpensive The H&R “SPORT SPRING SET” spec does not state this. However, the H.A.S. looks like only featuring height adjustable feature when compared to a Sport Spring Set and I don't know how one can keep the electronic dampening feature active and not the other one. I dont see a the difference in between and impact of the design on the electronic dampening feature.

Also, I don't plan to adjust my cars height all the time. H&R SPORT SPRING SET is three times less expensive and I want to confirm if it will still keep the car's electronic dampening feature just like the advertised H.A.S .

I appreciate for your feedbacks.

Any spring only kit will retain the EDC, including H&R

3 of 4 are fitted. Last one is waiting on the replacement strut that the previous shop f*cked up. Now USPS shipping is causing a ridiculous delay. 🤯

After 3 very long weeks my ride is finally home. Running Eibach springs and Dinan exhuast w/ midpipe. More pics to come. Initial impression of springs is very good. I can definitely feel how these are softer than stock as advertised. No NVH like the Dinan ones I had. Will report back after more drive time.

Glad its all fixed for ya. I am also keen to hear more once you had a few miles in the seat.

Presume you have had the Istep update? Or is it a digital dash car that already had the tweaks?

Either way, interested to hear how the softer springs and softer damper ratios work together.

I have the ISTEP from March 2021. I have a 2020 model year. Also running 12mm spacers front and rear. My immediate notice is that bumps are not as jarring. I'll report more as I go along and be sure to highlight any negatives I find (if any). Hope to read about more owners running Eibach on this platform. Bummer they're not sold domestically yet. Found mine on eBay from a German retailer.

That's a good looking ride height!

I wonder how the ride compares with the H&R srings?

Haven't driven on the h&r but Eibach claims their springs are 12% softer in the front and 5% softer in the rear. I can feel the difference versus stock. About an inch drop in the front and .75" in the rear. That's claimed drop. I didn't measure before and after

Further, I assume these would also fit the M40i. Looks like I might need to email Eibach.

drop looks good, actually looks lower than i thought compared to H&R.

that being said, with the softer spring, have you experienced any bottoming out? did you happen to upgrade to the Dinan bump stops as well?

No bottoming out. I used stock bump stops as that is what the springs were designed around.

Had a really nice and impressively responsive chat with Eibach, USA.

The X3 MC springs "that number does come up in our system here in the states", so good news RoWo - if you ever have any warranty issues, it can be handled through Eibach USA.

Unfortunately not so with the M40i springs, they don't show up in the US system, so if I order some from overseas, I'd need to route any warranty issues through Eibach Germany.

Not that I expect any trouble from coil springs, but....

So what gives you the lower height? MSS H&R or these Eibachs?
