Neue Klasse iX3 (NA5) EV first prototypes hit the road! Spy shots & info/specs

Have a look at the first neue klasse iX3 EV prototype spotted, along with the latest info/specs that we know from the Future BMW Models Thread:
  • End of production changes for US X6: from 03/28 to 12/27
  • A small adjustment to G70 LCI: 07/26, not 03/26
  • G90 M5 will be in production until 02/31; not clear if that also means a longer production period for all G60s.
  • G73 i7 xDrive60 Protection will be available from 07/25. I can't wait to learn its curb weight.
  • Planned NA0 (i3) model lineup: 40, 40 xDrive, 50, 50 xDrive, M60 xDrive
  • Planned NA5 (iX3) model lineup: 40, 40 xDrive, 50 xDrive, M60 xDrive
  • Planned NA7 (iX4) model lineup: 40 xDrive, 50 xDrive, M60 xDrive
  • Planned G65 BEV (iX5) model lineup: 50 xDrive, M70 xDrive
  • NA5 production is confirmed for 07/25-10/33, with introduction to non-European markets delayed to Spring 2026. It will be the first model to use several new features. The most interesting ones are the Panoramic Stage interface recently previewed in the NK concept (it will be standard) and the Augmented Reality glasses BMW plans to bring to market in 2027. The options we're already familiar with will include Iconic Glow exterior, the first use of multifunction seats with massage function on a 3-series level model, and various M features (M packages, M trims, M seats, M steering wheel). At least at this time, there is no autonomous driving beyond Level 2.
  • May include ZA5 iX3M.

Neue Klasse iX3 (NA5) first prototypes hit the road!

Shame the charge door hasnít been moved to the other side. That would make it easier to use the older non-V4 Superchargers (and even some V4ís that have been installed at the side of the bay).

looks like they're moving to pop out door handles and different mounting location for the side view mirror camera. the new mounting looks like a smaller version of hondas side view mirror camera.

I was thinking the same thing. Have to stay tuned and see how it rolls out as camo and info drops

BMW design language appears to maintain the same direction or how to inflame passions on both sides. Will wait for the production model to be announced.

Body silhouette being what it is .. I am interested in the driver experience: in the cockpit, will BMW return a few buttons to negate the touch-everything mantra, avoiding road debris, passing a slow moving truck, etc.

Is the design more minivan than SUV these days, for added aero I guess and lower ground clearance too.

Be good to see it on release if itís the first NC car.

everyone freaking out, literally the entire car has fake body panels bolted onto it, you can't tell anything from these pics. Plus this is supposedly the iX3, which will be a Neue Klasse-based electric car, while the regular X3 continues on with CLAR, so not only do we not have any idea what that looks like under the camo, we don't even know if the two versions will look the same.

Calm down.

So far electric versions didn't look any different, minus a few tiny details, so why would this look super different? Also, there's the camo, but you can still get a pretty good idea of what it will look like.

The issue I'm going to have is the dash-to-axle ratio of the front is going to make all of these Neue Klasse models look like frumpy, FWD cars since you don't need to include space behind the front wheels for things like the engine and trans.

From theses pictures it does look like any other suv on the road.
The tires look skinny for those fenders though.
