This whole time I have been doing it wrong. For my M5 E40 tune, my tuner had me add 4 gallon of E85 to every fill up.

As mentioned in my previous post-

Case in point why you need to test... just tested this “E85” and clearly not E85... it’s E70

I think it’s normal for your area. They serve E70 in winter months (ends in May?) and E85 in summer months.

E40 is spot on for the e30 BM3 Stage 1 map. mostly hitting boost target and timing all pretty much all the same and goes up to ~13 at 7200rpm. Afr is at 12.7-13

Only thing is the heat is making everything feel slow. Or maybe im getting used to it.

So you will be running e40 on daily basis?

will you upgrade the lines? Sorry, I’m asking because I’m facing the same dilemma of just switching to ethanol mix and running it daily. From what I understood, it is safer to run e-mix with an e30 tune than running pump gas on Stage 1 or 2 tune. You guys agree?

I am testing out E20 blend with 91 tune and then 93 tune to see what they look like.

Here is my E20 blend with 91 tune -> https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5edb...729b40b36dab64

Timing is a smidge better then the 93 tune with straight 93 interestingly enough.

Upgrade the lines for? To add that ethanol analyzer to get exact e85 content or?

Those are mine. Pure stock using DashCmd. The second sheet shows why the newbs like CarWow do not know how to use Launch Control. Big difference between launching at 2psi vs 10psi.
What is the sampling frequency?

Around here at least (MA), E50-85 can legally be called E85. There are three pumps in the Boston area and they are wildly different throughout the year. Testing is imperative.

Has anyone tried to richen it up? I haven't bought BM3 yet, but plan to in a few weeks after I get a few more miles on the car. I haven't looked at the software, so I'm not sure what the limitations are...if any.

Seems lean to me, but I haven't tuned a DI motor. I shoot for mid 11's on E with my cars. I've leaned them out and they lose mph. Down low, they also make more torque if you keep them 11.2ih as well. Again, not sure with the DI motors.

from my experience 12.5-13 is great with e85 on DI. But interested in seeing if anyone has different experience. Also i am using OTS map so it works with most of our s58's. I would think PTF with all their experience would do it that way for a reason.

The motors are living to see another day, so it must be the norm.

I finally looked at some logs on my laptop. Are you able to tune/log transmission converter lockup?

Shell vs. Mobil 91 tune with E20 logs (using 93 octane)
Results: pretty much the same, maybe Shell shows a bit better timing by a margin... either way E makes these tunes shine

Shell -
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ee1...90c60e5f8b2fcb

Mobil -
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5edb...729b40b36dab64

Next will be 93 tune with E20 to see how they look and if E20 can keep up.
