Solution for the hard headrest?

Have had the X3m since March. One of the things that has bothered both me and my wife is the hard headrest on these sports seats. I have owned many BMWs and these headrests are the worst... With both the fairly stiff ride + the hard headrest, give me a headache as my head frequently bumps into it...

Thus I am trying to find a solution. I don't need a neck pillow but instead a thin memory foam or pillow that can go on the headrest itself, maybe something like one of those soft headrest pillows on an S class or something like that, but really doesn't need to be that fancy, just an inch of memory foam that will attach to the headrest will do.

Anyone also looked into something similar? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't know if you've seen reviews of 7 series. Their backseats have a little pillow on the headrest, and their front seats' headrest have an adjustable "pillow" built in. In my f30 I find my headrest supportive but too stiff also. I have ordered two similar looking pillows on etsy and eBay, will compare them and report back. Those oem on 5/7 series pillow go for 200bucks, not worth it to me. I bought $30-$40 ones.

I have exactly the same issue. I have looked like crazy to find something to solve this. Ordered 2 different types of pillows. But the suede leather is just not so nice as smooth leather.
Have you solved the issue?

After many years of owning vehicles with firm rides (outside of a F10 535) I’ve learned to not put my head on the headrest.

My back must be curved :>). Is the headrest tilted all the way back?

So has nobody been able to find a thin headrest pillow. I have been searching and is just non existent. Does anybody know if you can buy a 5 serie G30 comfort chair headrest and use that one instead of the original X3?

Are these for sure the Sport seats? I find the sport seats in the X3M to be my most favorite seats I’ve ever sat in from any vehicle period.

Also curious why buy an X3M if you don’t want a sporty drive? The X3M is really how an M car should come from the factory imo and not trying to come off rude about this, just wondering on the logic.

I totally agree some people complain on the m sport seats being uncomfortable, my wife has the x4m40i and I have to say I love my m sport seats way more! These cars are designed to be stiff and tight bucket seats if you want comfort then go buy a X7 and stop complaining you bought a M performance vehicle. I thought people in these forums would understand that more.

I 100% understood I bought a sports and performance SUV, but my wife who wants to ride in it a 1-2 days a week hates the seats with a passion I’m thinking about making a custom insert from a memory foam pillow or something similar that will add some comfort for her. For her it’s the lack of upper back, the stiffness and neck support based on the seat curves and the tighter bolsters that she hates.
