As some have said, there is clear difference between the 3 settings. It's less pronounced with the latest update but improved overall

I couldn't stand comfort mode because my son would be thrown side to side in his car seat so I only drove in sport. Sport+ was just too still and rough. Now I can drive comfort with less issues

Apologies to OP for off-topic, but I do use the full cargo volume for landscape supplies on a fairly routine basis (which is the only reason I've never cross-shopped the X4 line, which is a great model in it's own right).
well played sir, I can appreciate that!

Just a final follow up;
My X3M came with the 21" Continental summer set, non-RF.
This winter I ran on BMW's 20" Pirelli winter set, non-RF.

The 21" vs 20" ride difference was negligible,
but adjusting the Suspension setting still makes absolutely NO perceptible difference.

I'm jealous that some of your X3Ms show an obvious difference when adjusting the suspension damping button!

Recently purchased a CPO 2020 comp and I love it. I notice a very subtle difference between modes - I would have thought it would be more dramatic of a change from comfort to sports +.

I have the conti's and the ride, imo, is pretty firm but never uncomfortable. Maybe I need more driving time..

How does one determine what software update is on the vehicle? Anyway to check without heading to dealer?

The side-to-side jostling in "Comfort" is actually kind of uncomfortable. Sport or Sport+ controls most of it, and ironically around the bad city of Chicago streets I roll in Sport or Sport+ all the time. I use Comfort for smooth highways.

Being a 1st generation car, they obviously didn't nail the suspension for "Comfort". Maybe the G97 will have a properly sorted suspension.

Today I fixed my ride problem by trading the '21 X3M for a '23 X5/40i.

I'll also be rid of an annoying but intermittent exhaust howl present since day-2. My neighbors all hear it, but it doesn't happen when I take it to the dealer.

The rudeness on these forums is embarrassing.

The X5 40i is a great road trip car.
