cover it with a real leather cover.

there's a ton of model on ebay, for cheap. Some are very good quality. Gives a way better look than a part shop cover.

all you need, is patience.

If it's just shiny, have you tried cleaning it? It's usually shiny from hand oils from where it always gets held. Many leather cleaners are not sting enough to cut those oils. I have found Blue Magic leather and vinyl cleaner - at most auto parts stores - works great. Turns it satin again.

after you clean it...... cover it with. Wheelskins.com
yes they are higher priced. . . . better kit ! did one other mfg's kit .... terrible!

I've done 6 different vehicles with WS covers, some new vehicles to save the original
surface, and some on used to cover age and wear . . . . all fit excellent.
And yes it does take "patience", and time. took me >3 hrs on first one.

Haven't put one on the X3 as yet, but its on the short list.

I've never stitched a wheel leather as the photo / video above shows . . . to me that looks bad.
always have done the baseball stitch . . . yeah more time and more patience !
