Further - confirmed Apple Carplay/Android connectivity still part of standard features. Also confirmed that all my options are still included - nothing deleted except for hands-free trunk release that I already knew about.

Cheers all!

Did the dealer tell you upfront that the foot trunk release thing was no longer available or you had to ask?
Dealer told me it was still unavailable. It's still showing a credit in VIR and the configuration website.

Dealer told me it was unavailable when I placed my order in late June. The Genius person I spoke to yesterday volunteered that info - I expected it was still a no-go, but she proactively told me it was a delete from standard equip and that I still had the $ credit showing as well.

Thanks~

I will definitely miss that feature, I used it all the time on my 440i.

Just talked to the genius team to confirm that mine was being built in SC. They said they’ve seen a growing number being built in SA, but wouldn’t be able to confirm until they started production.

Anyway to tell earlier? Would love to get ahead of that for a SC build it possible.

You should be able to tell by the VIN. The US VIN's start with 5UX...

Ahh. Don’t have a VIN yet. Will that update in my garage or do I need to get it from my CA?

It should update in your garage. It will show up once production starts. If you ordered the M40, I believe most if not all of those for the US are built in SC.

Just an FYI that changes for week 32 builds are still being allowed. I just changed my color to Phytonic Blue Metallic, after seeing more real world photos of different color combos.

I'm not necessarily encouraging anyone to change, but if there are options you want to add, that's probably still a possibility for you.

I called Genius for the first time yesterday. Long wait time to talk to a young gal who sounded cute but has likely never changed oil in her life. Confirmed my build is yet another "week 32" car. I asked about the curved display I had heard rumors about but she dispelled that thought, so I guess the $2250 price increase gets me nada except a vehicle one model year newer

I ordered color matched reflector swaps from IND, along with 15mm spacers (two pair), I really had to resist going with the 18's but sometimes less is more

Will be ordering a couple more items later today as well...:~}

Did she actually have a clue what you were talking about with the curved display? They don't seem to have much general or specific BMW knowledge there.

This is a valid question to which I don’t have an answer

Honestly, I’m mostly waiting for the configuration tool on the BMW site to switch over to 2023 for the X4. I don’t think I’ll have a good idea of what, if any, changes have been made until then

I can't find the thread now, but there was a recent thread where there was a link from a Canada Dealer who went over changes to 2023 X3 m40i and he mentioned possibly curved displays.

This is interesting. When I was first looking into an order, I visited BMW Seattle and spoke with a sales guy. He said I would def be in the 2023 allocation at that point, and said that one of the good things about that would be getting the new, single curved screen on the '23. He showed me what he was talking about with an iX they had in the showroom. Can't remember what brought it up, but I mentioned the 48-volt mild hybrid and he said "What? X3 M40is don't have a mild hybrid system!" I told him right there it is on the BMW website. He didn't believe me.

So went back to the 509 and called the closest dealer there - got on the list for a 2023 allocation, and the salesperson said nope - no curved screen for 2023, and yes - definitely mild hybrid in the x3 M40i. So I tend to believe what she told me.

Haha every time I've ever bought a car, I could tell the sales person something about the car they didn't know. I like to study & know as much as I can about the car before I buy.
I've only ordered my BMW's though.

I like your style! This is only my 2nd (auto) order. Last was my 2009 335i x-drive. Still my fave car ever owned (so far - fingers crossed).

Ordered a ‘19 Malibu wake boat. My son and I flew to Nashville and drove across TN to the factory to tour and see it in final assembly. My son surprised me by arranging our rental car in advance - an Aston Martin Vantage. That was a very fun trip - and many fond memories.

Don’t think I’ll be flying out for a similar experience in SC. Haha.
