Anyone regret 21" 718M wheels?

Anyone regret ordering/buying the option 21" 718M wheels due to ride comfort?

Also, I see the cost to replace all 4 corners from tire rack is $2k.

They do look great! Love the design.

Mine rides excellent with them based on my first impressions of just a few days. Zero regrets at this point.

LOVE them! Not only no regrets, I would not have purchased the M40i without the 21's as an option... they complete the aggressive, athletic look (and stance, once I get the 18/15mm spacers on) that really help differentiate the M40i from the pack. The ride has been firm, but surprisingly more comfortable than expected, even over bumps and rough roads. Also quieter than expected. I do plan on going with 255/285's soon for the improved stance and traction, and lower cost on replacements.

I actually prefer the look of the 20s. I like the design better, how they are a darker grey, and how the finish is glossy as opposed to satin/matte on the 21s.

If this design was an inch bigger I'd be sold but for those reasons I went with the 20s (plus potential ride comfort gains, cheaper and cheaper to replace tires)

It also seems I lucked out with the tires too getting the P zeros on the 20s. I love those tires and it seems the 21s are all getting the odd Alenza things

I think both 20 and 21 options look great.
Have the 21 for summer and 20 for winter.

Honestly though in Canada if the 20 staggered set was offered on the M40i at a reduced cost compared to 21 I would have gone for that. Would have been cheaper for replacement tires in the long run.

As a side note ...
I don't really understand why this car was designed for this ridiculously large overall wheel diameter. 28.5" is just so large. My 5 series overall diameter was 26.75" and they were plenty huge. IMHO.

The Alenza tires are the latest from Bridgestone. P Zeros have been out for a long time, and though they are good, they are old technology. Overdue for an update.

They just updated them google it. These are the all new P zeros I'm talking about much better than the old ones, much much quieter.

I like the fact that the 21's are exclusive to the M40i model. Plus the cerium gray highlights on the wheels match exactly the cerium gray finish on the mirror caps, front kidney grille surrounds, near the fog lights and fender vents (I know they aren't functional). The 20" wheel colors don't match anything. But I do believe they would be easier to clean than the 21's.

Because they are not functional in the G01 X3 models released thus far. The image you share appears to be that of the X5? That series has a functional breather.

Can you post a link to cheaper 255/285 replacements? Which tires were you thinking about?

I went through quite a bit to work out nearly the same in recent weeks but for a 30d. I was trying to work out what contributed to the harsh ride in some demos I drove and as reported in lots of online reviews.

In the end I went for 20” run flats but with DDC. There was little discernible difference in terms of general smoothness between 18/19/20 that I tested on a combination of 20d and 30d except where the car did or didn’t have DDC.

The 30d with 20” and DDC I went for rides great and that’s including me deliberating against a GCL350d with air suspension.

I’ve posted in this elsewhere but there is significant misunderstanding about DDC (especially at the dealers) thinking it is only about being able to change between different stiffnesses, whereas my feeling is that it actually “smooths” little bumps no matter what stiffness you ask for. That’s what I feel is the main reason for reviews sometimes feeling to car is rough but the reviewer assumes it’s the big low profile run flats.

do you have any pics of the setup with the spacers definitely considering those with my 21's
