2022 BMW X3M Competition Seat Belts
I've gone through my local BMW dealership, and BMW USA directly, but no one seems to be able to answer my question. I have a 2020 BMW X3M Competition model. The 2022 version of my car comes with M-striped seat belts. I'd like to have those installed in my vehicle. Can anyone definitively tell me whether or not the 2022 seat belts will fit / mount / function correctly in my 2020 model? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How easy is it to perform the seatbelt swap? Has anyone done it?

Not too bad, taking the A pillar stuff out can be a pain with the seat in

Yup. My comp doesn't have them. I was pissed as I didn't notice at delivery and several days later realized it. The dealer refused to accommodate a swap even though I had asked for them during the ordering process. They forgot to tick the box.

Had I known about these I would have got them on my 2020. The price is nuts for retrofit - it would seem that aftermarket options may be a better value.
I only ever regret not getting them when I see a thread here lol. |

I swapped them in my old F80 M3 and I imagine the process is similar. If so it's a moderate level DIY. Requires removal of sill plates, lower and upper B pillar trim pieces. Then it's just a matter of unbolting.
But of course, the price of the striped belts was expensive but manageable on the F80, unlike the off the charts prices for seemingly everything for the F97. |

Wanting to get this right ... seeing lots of images online with M stripes in the car, just not quite what i'm looking for in F97/F98.
Anyone can share pictures of passenger and driver sides M belts in X3 resting on B pillar, and also buckled in at the front? And if possible rear M belts as well? Thanks. |
