Couple of weird things happening with idrive
1. My idrive display rebooted once or twice over a few week period but recently it rebooted three times within 30 minutes. Brought it to bmw. They didn't notice any faults and indicated the s/w was up to date. I've had the car just over a month and just noticed the protective film wasn't removed from the screen so not sure if the issues were related to that. As a side note it's interesting that the film wasn't noticed/removed during the pdi or the subsequent service 2. Yesterday I noticed the display tile order was wrong, presets were empty, and connected drive wasn't showing weather. This morning everything was fine. Do you know what would cause that to happen. I checked the driver profile to make sure the right one was selected. Thanks Dean |

The only similar strange thing that I have had happen was my iDrive went black while reversing out of a parking spot. I tried starting the cameras several times and it was just black each time. Once I got home and turned the car off and left it for a few hours it worked fine the next time I started it. :

maybe just needs a hard reset. no issues should be related to the protective film. I've left mine on because I had no idea it was there until a forum member alerted me (and others) and I've had zero issues. still on there as a matter of fact.
I don't know how to do a hard reset but one way would be to disconnect battery and reconnect it. black first. red second. wear gloves lol. I haven't looked at our battery compartment yet, would be neat to have quick disconnects back there...doubt we have them though. |
