The best color on the new X3. But I could be a bit biased.

I'm glad that from what I was told by BMW NA, that because my X3's rear spoiler and many others got stained from the white plastic protector sheet they apply to the vehicle, after the first month of production, they started cutting the protector sheet before it would overlap the black shadowline trim part of the spoiler.
Glad others aren't having to wait the 2.5 months to get another replacement like I had to do. Though last I heard, they had 924 on order for replacement in the US alone. So there's still lots of them out there.

Staining? Was it from the adhesive or transportation?

It was either from the adhesive or somehow moisture caused it. I remember years ago Lexus had the same staining problem under the plastic shrink wrap on the body paint due to moisture getting under the wrap. In their case, using a heat gun eliminated the stain. If it was from moisture on the X3, don't think the heat gun method would work to well since the part is plastic.

Dealer wouldn't throw the mats into the deal. The best they do was a discount if I purchased them? I'm going to ask again at delivery. Maybe I'll have a Sales Manager in a good mood lol

Bob, I really appreciate the fact that you raised the issue of the staining. I saw it on the first cars that came here and brought it to the attention of the dealer's guru. They raised it with BMW as well. By the time I took delivery of mine in January, I knew to bring an inspection light with me. No staining!
Thanks for sharing. That is part of what makes this board so helpful. We may like are cars but we are not a bunch of "fan girls and boys".

Thanks. The staining should have only affected X3's built from October through
mid December. But worldwide, that's easily thousands of them.
However, most people won't notice it till the sun is shining on it from the rear. Or they bring a light with them for close inspection like you did.

Are there any pictures of the staining?

Not sure what to look out for.

Gorgeous. My only complaint about the color is that it's a lost cause trying to keep it clean. I have given up. It's as bad as black in that regard
