Here's a side image of my wife's X3MC to scale with the apparent X3M LCI mule shared by Ibiza .
On quick review seems the rear diffuser region may be elongated slightly, and the front end does appear more squared with a pronounced flare of the side splitter/intake? I don't usually make much of heavily camo'd mules as so much can be hidden or purposely faked, especially with only one view available, but interesting to see they're actively working on the model. |

This just posted on facebook. Note it's an X1 xDrive25e but I bet this could carry into X3 LCI. Looks fantastic. If they put a B58 into the X1, that would be wicked.
https://www.facebook.com/BMW/photos/...9247711937269/ EDIT: Is this a new front look or am I just behind the times? I don't remember seeing an X1 like this. Last edited by Transfer; 09-29-2020 at 11:05 AM.. |

That's the M Sport front bumper for the F48 LCI X1s.....IIRC that started with 2020 models. The grill is now has a connected look and they eliminated the fog lights from the bumpers to update and match the rest of the BMW line up. Not sure about the 25e models, but I think there was only a shifter assembly/knob update only that started with the 2020 model as well.
I know this only because I was recently debating between the X1 and X2 for my wife.

LCI usually has very few changes on M cars since they are only out 1-2 years before LCI
However I wouldn't be shocked to see the engine get the same torque upgrade the G80 got for the competition package. 37 lb extra torque is nothing small 479 vs 442. But unless they fixed the turbo lag from launch I won't be getting another one. |

BMWblog posted a recent rendering of what the X3 LCI could look like. It shows a nice evolution, IMHO. Dunno if it's the angle, but the hood/front look a bit rounder, which gives it juuuuust a little bit of Stelvio, and you know... It doesn't hurt.
Wonder how it would look in X3 M grade. https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/09/21/r...w-x3-facelift/ |

Thanks for sharing, J-RO, and if that is your design I appreciate the efforts you put into producing it. But that would be a no-go for me on my next X3MC(S). The X1 image shared would be acceptable, but at some point BMW and M Divisions must come to some shared compromise for what their purchasing base desires. Not bringing up a polarizing discussion here, but just an honest discussion. Either BMW/M decide the future is where it is at, and they hope they have identified the new base to support bold design changes, or they at least consider that their heritage is what brought them to this point.
Not saying one is better or more correct, just a choice it seems that probably needs to be made. The more 'traditional' segment will probably start to drop off in numbers if they choose the more radical design influences, but they may feel comfortable with that if they know the finances are there to back them up. Selfishly, I'm hoping they don't move in that direction... |

Every new iteration of BMW results in this kind of remark being made by people. In the 20-ish years I've been driving BMW's, the ONLY BMW I've seen appreciate was the 1M (...the car everybody said was a parts bin Hail Mary that wasn't a real M car). Anybody believing their mass produced BMW is going to appreciate is kidding themselves.
