This is exactly why you should log and review the logs after each fill up on a tuned car.

hey folks - just a quick update. i never put the less aggressive tune on the car; i just switched to a mix of 91 and 101 and the car is an absolute beast - dare i say faster than almost anything on the road?

highly recommend mission tuning and their outstanding customer service (always just a quick phone call away).

I received this message on my non-comp X3 M after 1,300 miles and one month of ownership. BMW says it is a pre-cat sensor and they are back ordered until March! They tried locally and regionally to source from another dealer but so far no luck. I’m in an X3 3.0 now and they said they don’t want me driving my car because it could go into limp mode at inopportune times like what the op had when changing lanes. Hoping they can track down a sensor so I don’t have to go all winter driving a four banger.

Also note that UK posters generally refer to the build year not the MY as you do in the US, but as production didn't start until the second half of 2019 (or MY20 if you're in the US) it's a moot point anyway.

Firmware updates are a continuous thing and don't necessarily rely on the MY.

wait, are you going to the dealer with a drivetrain malfunction message and a MP tune flashed on? you are one brave man!
It really comes down to the relationship with your SA at the dealership. Since im on my 5th bmw and the same SA and he knows that im insane, he closes his eyes on almost everything.
