Auto Start Stop button

I picked up my 2021 X3 last week. The auto start stop button is already stuck in the down position. I am no longer able to shut off the feature by pressing the button. When the button was working I was able to feel a slight resistance which I thought was odd. I am off to the dealership tomorrow to have it looked at. So much for initial build quality.

Good luck. Can't expect too much for 50k these days.

Unfortunate. Should be a easy ish fix. But surely unacceptable on a brand new car.

Update. The auto stop start switch needs to be replaced. The part is on order so another trip back to the dealer next week to get it installed. I just hope the fix does not require removing the dash. I could end up with a rattle or some other problem because of the removal.
In the meantime, I discovered another way of turning off the auto start stop function. Since I drive in comfort mode all of the time the auto start stop is turned on by default which I do not want. However, If I drive in sport individual mode with all the settings set to comfort the auto start stop is turned off by default but the car still drives the same as comfort mode.

It will require pulling off one piece, but shouldn't be an issue:

Few of us are using that mode exactly that way. Most because of digital speedo

Didn't think of that idea about sport individual. Hmm...

Can I check...digital speedo, are these discussions purely for iDrive 6? Maybe also it's for countries / models with the base instrument cluster?

It's always there for me in every mode with iDrive 7...just checking I'm not confusing things...
