Anyone know the offsets on the factory 19" wheels?

I am already thinking about winter wheels/tires for my daughter's X3 M40i. Dealer says that they will sell a package in October, but I am curious about putting together a package myself. Tirerack shows like 40 replacement wheels, but they have different offsets. I don't want to worry about centering rings or spacers, so I would like to limit it to offsets that match OEM. Searched but did not find the answer.

Thanks.

Factory offsets on the 19" wheels is 32. The width of the wheel is 7.5. It should not be too hard to put together a set on your own. I mounted a new set that are 8.5 inches wide with the same offset and it looks great. Good luck.

With 8.5" it should be a different offset. Almost the same though, so probably not noticeable.

I put this table together earlier. Can be found in another thread as well:

7JX18 ET:22 (225/60R18)
7,5JX19 ET:32 (245/55R19)
8x20 ET27 (245/45R20)
9,5x20 ET43 (275/40R20)
8,5x21 ET30 (245/40R21)
9,5x21 ET43 (275/35R21)
(5/112 66.6mm)

The M40i needs 19" to clear the brakes. There are 18" rims that still fit, but rare. For snow you want as narrow as possible, I.e. 225 tires on 18" would be best..

Have a look at this thread (3rd and 4th posts).

I have done a bit of research on this and have ordered the wheels detailed in the following. Appreciate this is a UK company - but hopefully this will help....

https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showt...Mrwinterwheels

PS - tyre size is 245/50/19 - so same as the BMW winter set of wheels.

These are 19x8.5 ET32. The tires are 255/50/19, which are one size bigger. I put this into a rim size calculator and it noted that the wheel would move out 13 MM and I thought that would be acceptable since the stock wheel looks a little tucked in. It may not be for everyone. I also went to the larger size tire since there are so many more options in this size. I will put winter tires in this size on my factory 19 inch wheels as there are so many more to choose from. Thanks.

I'm looking for a set of snows too. Tirerack is suggesting 235/55/R19 as the size for 19" rim (either Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 or Pirelli Scorpion Winter).

This size is slightly thinner (-0.3"), taller (+0.6") and outer sidewall seems to be 0.15" closer in (according to tiresize calculator). The speedometer error (+2%) due to increase circumference.

Thoughts on this size and either of these tire two choices?

When I pick a rim it says it needs centering ring? Is that a downside?

One more question- since these are not run flats. If I were to go that route, should I be carting around a spare when these shoes are on?

Thanks!

Centre rings are common as there are few wheels with bore size 66.6mm. I avoided the rings as I preferred an exact fit.

I ran non RFT on my last car with no spare. I had a good compressor, tin of Tyreweld (just hoped I never needed it) and a Dynaplug and just crossed my fingers all would be ok.

What I learnt was check your pressures often and if any drop, inspect the tyre. I had 2 tines when nail in tyre and caught the slight loss of air early.

Thank you Rbrown. I’m thinking I don’t want to do a roadside repair but keeping an eye of the pressures is good advice.

Did see that the Pirelli Scorpion Winter is also available as a RFT in the size 255/50/R19 that DAF4655 mentioned and pictured. This size calculates to 0.4” wider. Always thought the winters should be more narrow? The tirerack site didn’t bring this up as recommended for the M40i but then would be more comfortable without the spare? Decisions
