I'm 8 months and 6,000 miles in and I love it as my DD. Since adding MSS springs and bigger tires, I love it even more. No regrets or major issues.

Same here. Moved from '19 M40i to X3MC - no issues and no regrets. Moved solely because of an opportunity on X3MC

I am really hopeful the MSS will be enough for me to start liking it combined with the tuning aspect which is fun but somehow I doubt it

I think I have been spoilt with my previous cars

This is really off-topic relative to the thread, but to quickly answer: Leasing is often preferred by people who focus primarily on monthly payments. Monthly lease payments are typically lower than payments on a loan taken out for a purchase, but of course you have no equity in the vehicle and do not own it when the lease term is up.

In very general terms, leasing is often less advantageous financially but may be preferred by people who either need lower monthly payments than they can obtain through a car loan or who cannot or prefer not to pay cash for the entire purchase price.

MPG is good for an SUV with this power...my X3MC is more fuel efficient than my Macan S in both city and highway

Love my X3 M40i. No regrets. Okay, maybe the speeding ticket.
Only issue Ive had is with the key. Someone accidentally hit the trunk button and it opened when the garage was closed. Happened another time while at a stop light.
Does anyone know if that's supposed to happen?

I have an m40i and test drove an x3mc today.
The ride is not harsh as reported by media. The suspension is even quieter in the x3mc than my m40i.

Visit your dealer. There's a fix for this

According to my service manager, there is no coding fix for the F97 to not respond to the keyfob trunk button when the vehicle is locked.

I have heard this can be done on the G01 though.

Can you confirm if you were able to get this programmed on an F97?

11 months. 9,000 miles . Pure Stock. 11.6 in the 1/4mile.

Would buy again in a heart beat. I'm either in the X3MC (when my wife is not), or in my 911 Turbo S. Satisfied in either.

Only wish list is a full leather dash on the next one.

I'd like carbon fibre interior trim (regret) and I wish the factory had better QC. (issue)

But despite the numerous niggles with the car weirdly it feels very well screwed together when you're driving it and as the poster above says full leather would be very nice and I find it strange that they don't offer it as the 3/4/5/7/8 X5/6/7 get the option but not the X3/4 feels like they have put us in with the 1/2 series crowd.

Huge regrets, nothing but trouble with mine, am just about to complete buy-back from supplying dealer. I’ll put a new thread up here to warn everyone what happened and which car to avoid for those thinking of buying one

Only gripe - there needs to be a Premium sound system option... the current system is mediocre at best. An $80k+ premium M vehicle should have an available upgrade.

(other than that, I LOVE the firm ride, love the seats, love the engine... baddest all-around SUV under $85k on the planet.)

You should test drive an X3 M40i too. I have 20,000 miles on mine and I love it. I've driven the X3M as well, and I don't think the X3 M40i gets it's due respect.

Sure it's not as fast and doesn't handle quite as sharply as the X3M, but it has plenty of power, especially down low in the torque curve (below 3000 RPM) which is where the engine is going to be for most daily stop and go driving. The handling and suspension are totally respectable. Gas mileage is better than the X3M too as noted by many. I have the factory installed tow hitch on mine and this is not an option on the X3M.

Just to be clear, this is coming from someone who is a big fan of the X3M and I may get one for my next vehicle. Either way, you can't go wrong. Test drive them back to back if you can. If you decide that you must have the X3M, then now is a good time to buy one. Lot's of folks on the forum have gotten very good deals on 2020's and BMW is offering attractive leasing and 0.9% financing deals. See this thread and good luck!

Yes, confirmed I had this done when they did the last software recall fix as well as the SIB/software fix for the 3D Remote fix

I test drove the M40i about a year ago and I really loved it... Just couldn't buy new at the time, so I bought a used X5 which I truly enjoy, but it's lacking power... I could spend a few hundred bucks and tune it but that scares the hell outta me, vs being an idiot and buying a new car...

Maybe I'll keep my eye on the market for used M40i's hitting the dealers...

Actually leasing is more advantageous financially. I’ve done both. Mostly finance. Now lease my last 3 vehicles. Let’s say you finance or buy cash. You pay $80k for a vehicle. How much is it worth in 10 years and how much did you pay in maintenance, tires, brakes, service

Now I lease my bmw and my lease score is 10 years. So it will take me 10 years in lease payments to pay the amount of the vehicle. So I get a new vehicle every 2 to 3 years. Don’t pay for service or maintenance.

If you add up how much your vehicle cost you to buy and maintain and how much it’s worth in 10 years would be similar to what I spent to lease in the same 10 years. Plus if you get into an accident, your vehicle depreciates a few grand. With a lease you don’t worry about that.

This is just an example and some vehicles lease terrible and some hold values better. So varies. But if someone knows how to get a good lease deal, it’s a no brainer.

Had mine since February, I actually like it more and more as I drive it.

Obviously the ride is rough, especially compared to perf suv's with air suspension. I can deal with it more than my wife

low rpm's the engine is more laggy than I'd like, but the engine screams up top.

It serves the purpose I got it for, more space than a sedan, very fun to drive around. It's no sports car, but feels very nimble and agile.

This happened with my first X3MC. It was a launch vehicle and had a bunch of problems. Dealer bought it back and sorted me into a new one. 2nd time was a charm.
