X3M Pure Turbos plus Port Injection

One of the X3M/X4M facebook groups, someone posted a 2020 X3M with Pure Turbo's 2+, I believe, and stock fuel system on E85 max out in the low 800's. The fuel system was taxed, it could've made more. I'll see if I can dig up the link.

There is an X4M with LM900 turbos on pump gas and with very impressive numbers, but no video or proof of those runs unfortunately accept dragy numbers, I have not seen another car with turbo upgrades that encouraged me to do mine😅. I'm still running custom stage 1 on E70 with drop in filters only.

Looks like we are in the same boat!

I'm waiting to someone really blow our times out of the park with a well sorted big turbo setup before taking the plunge.

Fella in China running a 6.65 for 60-130mph is the best yet, its listed on Dragy as running 98 which shows there should be plenty left in the bag.

I had a Toronto red 2020, that had everything done, took everything off and bought a 22, when they're easily tunable I will be making it faster

Hey there,

that seems kind of low for upgraded turbos. stock turbo X3M AND X4M are doing 720whp with stage 2 custom tunes on E60. I want to do turbos myself but i haven't seen improved performance that would justify the money spent.

Same...for that much money, should be breaking into 9s. I can't justify pures and a few secs in 1/4, however I bet the difference shows up in the 1/2 mile times

You not only need PI or an HPFP upgrade but you need to upgrade the low side as well. When going with bigger turbos you should expect to replace most of the fuel system at the same time. It sucks that on this platform that's like $12k and were still held back from 1/4 mile times due to the factory launch control. Until coders can figure out how to raise it or come up with a fuel/ign cut launch control (2 step) then I don't see anything changing.

Save your money and pull the seats out if you want to go faster. I've done 6.8s 60-130 with just the seats pulled on stage 1 E60. Stock downpipes.

true this... most of the times i have seen on the bigger turbo cars is disappointing.

Im gonna be installing LM900 turbos, reflex plus controller, PFS PI kit and an E5LM LPFP pump. You dont need to upgrade the HPFP's if you do a stronger port setup.

The LC is an issue sadly, with Xhp turning up the LC 20% has helped smooth out the launch but im not seeing a gain yet. I am still testing and will play with tire pressures more and possibly switch to MT ESS on 20" wheels. I am going for 9's. im surprised I have not seen one do it yet. maybe it will happen, if not i will just pull everything out and switch to G80.

What seats did you pull? only the rears or rears and front passenger?

We haven't seen it yet because no one has figured out a way around the factory LC. I truly believe stock turbo guys will hit 9s before upgraded.

I agree with you that it’s possible with stock turbo. Hopefully they do eventually figure it out. If more boost can be built on LC and 2nd gear launch I think it will help.

I guess now we will just try do it on the top end for now.
