X3 M40d ordered, Tartufo & Phytonic, now with pics

I have been deliberating over the X3 and 5 Series for a while, wanting something larger to use as our main family car, all the time thinking the X3 was going to be more expensive so therefore leaning more towards the 5 Series, until I got the quotes from Tony today, and I have now ordered the M40d!

I can't VT until the start of March, but with the longer build time's of M40's, plus individual leather and xmas coming up we're ordering it now and Tony will store it for me if it arrives early.

Tony as usual was extremely helpful and accommodating, I cannot thank him enough.

I can't bloody wait!

Here's the spec:

X3 M40d

Phytonic Blue
Tartufo Individual Leather
Aluminium Rhombicle Interior Trim

Comfort Package (folding mirrors, acoustic glazing, rear seat backrest adjustment, extended storage, comfort access)
M Sport Plus Package (HK, Sun Pro Glass, Adaptive Suspension & 20" 699m wheels with high performance tyres)

Driving Assistant Plus (plus Galvanic Embellisher)
Parking Assistant Plus
Head Up Display
Steering Wheel Heating
Sunblinds Rear Side Windows
Lumbar Support
Trim Designation Deletion (side)

MSRP £60,365

See the babybmw forum for his current M40d/i deals:

https://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewto...1d8a7ea5b1d1c3

If you want a quote for any BMW speak to Tony Lewis (TRL) at Berry BMW Heathrow, but please bear in mind that due to working alone on quotes it's best contact him once you are down to a final spec as he does not work in the showroom as such, and generating quotes is quite labour intensive, especially with the amount of optional extras most of us add!

Contact him directly on this email address:

TRLdeals@outlook.com

EDIT:

Car is now at Tony's storage unit

Going by others on here that have ordered them it’s around 3-4 months, but I guess xmas could extend that. I’m not sure if the individual leather extends build times like it does on the 3 & 4 series though?

Nice car Teaston

There is still a little bit of me wishes I'd stuck with my 40d order ................

The wait is killing me now!!
Mine is scheduled for production, but I was originally told it should start this week, now it's next week!!

Garage List
This isn't helping my decision in any way.

I don't like SUV's, and think the 540 will be more practical and sensible, but there is something about the X3 M40i (even if the wife didn't like the lower spec X3 we saw a couple of weeks back)......

I didn't like SUV's until I drove the X3, it basically just drives like a slightly heavy hot hatch! You definitely have to try one.

Wait till we all get our blues (hopefully not twos ;-). I'm hoping not to be a deluge. They do say once you had black ... but I had it twice and I'm going blue :-o

LOL

Oh man that's so true. I had two MSport (30d then 35d) second with that active suspension thingy, which made it a bit better sport wise but f**k I was blown away when I tested an M40i, then handling was different postcode.

X3 M40d ordered

I know, It's hard to beat a clean black car but I'm hopeless at that so gave up years ago on black but love the blue and it keeps looking clean, although I had it ceramic coated which helps

After I decided to buy, any new X3 coming through in the forum from last year always seemed to be blue so I thought there would be loads about but of course they were mostly in NA

And most of the press ones seemed to be blue, but yet I don’t think I’ve seen one on the road yet, except for the demo one I had for the test drive. Also went into dealers yesterday and they had 5 G01’s, all were black, grey or white!

I've stuck with black again ......... although it is Carbon Black so sort of very dark blue ........ with all the same "keep it clean" problems!!

I think BMW colours are very limited. Especially on the X3?
2 blacks and a dark grey, silver, white, blue and .............. beige!!
Blue being the only "colour" wasn't to my taste

I think I'd have gone for a grey metallic, if it was closer to silver than black, but hey!!

I don't see a lot of any G01 X3's on the road??? Surprising .... but good!!

Despite what I was told by the so called genius, mine went into production yesterday

I unashamedly ordered the Cognac interior and silver buttons the same as launch car as well

Yes I think in any colour they are rare, I remember seeing 1 white and probably no more than 10 blacks/grey that I've noticed

X3 M40d ordered

Carbon black is a great colour, if they did a Space grey I would have been tempted although it looks really good in silver as well

Good news about production, shouldn't be long now

The Cognac does go extremely well with PB, but i’ve never had Nappa/Merino leather in a car before so at £990 it was just too tempting!

I was half tempted with Nappa but would have been one option too far, strict budget to spend less on the X3 than I did on my outgoing X5 6 years previous, I made it with £50 to spare hew:

Vernacsa though seems a lot better than the Dakota in my old X5

Yes I know what you mean, you keep adding options and before you know it you've added £100pm to the price! But I've recently paid off all my credit cards, loan & a couple of things on finance which has freed up over £600pm!

X3 M40d ordered

Nice spec, dosen't sound that much when you put it like that, is that over 4 years or 3

Although check sensatec dash, was standard on my M40i, there was a error on BMW price list that put it as a option but it came with it and was on standard spec sheet, unless that has changed since?

Also ACC comes included with DA+ looks like you are paying twice for it?
