I drove through a bank ATM drive through lane using the Carwash mode of the Surround View. Despite having the outside mirrors folded rendering the two side cameras not functioning properly, I had no issues navigating through narrow passage without getting any curb rash on my wheels, or any risk scratching my side mirrors. Glad I had the 3D Surround View as a must have option when I spec'd my X3.

off topic - what is a "carwash mode of surround view"?

After you activate Surround View, there is a Function bar on the left side of the iDrive screen. From the Function bar, you can find a "Car Wash" option at the bottom (an icon that looks like a car under a shower). Select this option, the screen will change to "Vehicle Wash View" displaying the floor area right in front of your front bumper, and two solid lines appear, showing where your front wheels are going. This not only help guide you to get your wheel onto car wash conveyor track, but also help me to avoid scraping my wheels against the curbs of the drive through lane. Hope this help!

New proud owner of a 2019 BMW X3.. I just had my Xcel installed on my car to protect it from rocks on the road.

I just joined this site because it seemed like a lot of good people here.. and it's very dangerous here because my car is nearly fully loaded with packages.. and now I'm wanting to do mods.

If you have the 3D Surround view (easily indicated by camera lens mounted on each outside mirror) then you should have this function. Enjoy your ride!

The Phytonic Blue is definitely beautiful color. I've had silver, almond, white, etc cars in the past. Wanted something nice, but not too overly bright. Luckily for me I found this car at the 2nd dealership I visited, with all the options I wanted.

Thanks for the info on the info on determining if I have this capability. I do have it I'm sure because I can do a 3D image around my car, viewed through BMW Connect. Going to have to play with the buttons on the car now.

Did they get rid of the screen mirroring of Android phones for the 2019 models? Can't seem to see the same functions as the Genius videos show for screen mirroring.
