Which X3 appears to be the better deal?

Hey guys!

Which one of these appears to be the better deal:

2018 X3 xDrive30i with 6k miles (wood trim)
No options at all
29,000$

2019 X3 xDrive30i with 9k miles (piano black trim)
Premium Package Essential (Navigation (GPS), Sunroof, etc.)
32,000$

Both are otherwise in the same condition.

I intend to keep the car for only 3 years and drive around 7.5k miles / year. Which one do you think would depreciate less in this time-frame?

Thanks!

Are they both the same engine and trim level?

Yep they're both X3 xDrive30i. I edited my OP to reflect this just now.

i’d go with the 2019 for a couple of reasons. One, you will have free maintenance the entire time you have it. Two, having the premium package will enhance your time with the X3 and make it more desirable at resale. Either way, enjoy!

Well both were put in circulation around October 2018 so in both case I would be under warranty the entire time.

Then free maintenance (different than warranty) will expire in October 2021 for both. I’d still go with the 2019, but that’s just me. Enjoy!

Personally, I really dislike a sunroof in a car.
To much heat (and light) coming in...

I'd definitely go w/ the '19. I expect you'll like the extra features and the car will be more desirable when you go to unload it.

Good luck!

Depreciation really only comes in to play if you sell it yourself and the absolute difference between the two probably won't be significant. Do you really care if one depreciated $100 more than the other? However, as others have mentioned, the Premium Pkg. will likely be more sought after and may be easier to sell. You might care if you sell the car in a week or two versus a month or two perhaps, I don't know. If you plan to trade, then Nav doesn't matter and you will get some credit for the option package but not full retail value.

And nav! I’d pay $3k not to have that crappy little screen the X3’s come as standard with in US:

Get the 2019. Miles will be negligible when you sell.

Well I'm in Canada and converted the price to US but using an actual converter it's 34k$. Then again I think cars are more expensive up here usually. Maybe I'm really getting a fantastic deal!

I just signed for the 2019 X3 with the premium package
Only thing that's left is the independant inspection to make sure everything is OK then they'll clean / wax the car and I pick it up.

Thanks guys!
