I do find it strange that the front springs make the car essentially sit up higher at the same spring perch setting. It makes it where you can drop the rear of the car about 3/4in lower than you can drop the front.

Not sure if that was the issue with the original springs too, or a consequence of the revised springs.
I believe the front spring was made taller to eliminate spring noise, hence you can't go quite as low.

IMO you wouldn't want to put the rear down all the way anyway as it would lead to a very rough ride.

You can't go any lower than what I recommend.
Because you'll be riding on the bump stop and have bouncy ride.

According to the alignment tech, the camber on the front is not adjustable, so I was basically stuck with the left front being out of tolerance by .2 deg. The rears are adjustable, but I ran out of adjustment at 1.4deg. That said it was within the acceptable range.

After the alignment I did a short sprinted drive and am very happy at the handling of the springs. Still has very responsive turn in and mid corner stability, and feels a bit more planted when dealing with mid corner bumps.

Edit - I should also add the rear toe is at the minimum allowable because I asked for the reduced toe in order to try to help with tire life.
My rear tire with MSS.
Was on stock height for about 3-4000 miles, then the rest on MSS without alignment.
Lasted up to 14k miles.

Good to know. Was a PS4s too

I'm generally fairly hard on tires, so I'm hoping I can get 15k out of this set.

thanks for the info, I have a few recalls that I was going to get done at the first service in 3-4 months time. Something about DME, and also what appears to be a faulty headlight sensor.

Is there anything specific I need to ask for to get the software update done for the dampers?

Thanks!

Yea, unfortunately it is.
COVID is main part of the causes.

That's a substantial bump in costs and healthy increase in price for Covid.

In all honesty I always thought $849 was too cheap for this kit, not that I wanted to pay a higher price but just in comparison to similar suspension kits for BMWs.

That's an excellent point & I never thought about it that way until you explained it this way. I guess you're right that the engineering & knowledge that went into this kit were priced a touch on the low side.

Update on my install after about 1500 miles or so...no real complaints, other than a very faint noise turning at low speeds, forward or reverse. It's almost feels like the spring is being bound up momentarily, has that kind of sensation. Haven't had a chance to take the wheels off and take a look.

Other than that, I may go a few MMs lower in the front.

I am at roughly 2000 miles after my install. No issues at all other than an occasional comment from someone that says "your SUV looks lower than most".

Outwardly I say...Yup

Inwardly I say "lower and faster"....Have a nice day

The 22 X3M Comp is softer than the previous gen. I am not sure I would want it any softer than it is now. So im on the fence about getting these.

Since '22 is softer than '20 and '21, it doesn't mean that it will go softer by putting on MSS.
It will be the same ride quality as '20 and '21 with MSS.

Where have people been getting mss springs installed? Do you have bmw dealer install them? I do not have any bmw tuning type shops around me that I know of in Indianapolis so trying to figure out where would be best place to look for.

More compliant over broken pavement doesn't mean softer. Also, tire selection make a big different too. The factory damper & springs are the exact same units. You know this already. Right?

I went from a 2020 to a 22 Lci, same tires (conti 6) , the 22 is Noticeably smoother and the suspension is absolutely softer on all settings.
