Bimmercode and obd adaptor

Hi all

Can anyone recommend the best obd adaptor to use with bimmercode, I’ve not used it before but want to code ASD off.

P.s. happy new year all

just pick one off the app that they recommend???

I used ENET Cable as i already had it for ESYS - then just needed an adapter for IPhone (doesnt support android though)

I have used it on my X4M and can confirm a lot of parameters are not available with the ICARPRO. This worked on my M4 and F30 335d. I have had to order the plug in lighting to ethernet lead as I already have the OBDII to Ethernet lead.

Thanks for this - I’ve got the same problem with my VGate adapter. What adapter do I need to buy with an iPhone and Bimmercode??

I already have a OBDII lead, so i'm just buying the lightning to ethernet lead and will just plug in.

Here is a list of recommended adaptors and what model

Nice thank you.

Apart from coding twin tone LEDS strips what are popular x3m changes?

Looking thru bimmercode there are so many!

Getting full screen car play but I know this requires fsc code and not strictly coding.

Video in Motion
Leaving rear view cam on (for 250m)
Remembering stop/start (think it came with this, but after the RIS update, it changed)
Changing the delay on the boot opening
Turn of horn beep when locking car & engine running

The main one for me is ASD off.

Bonus would be tinkering with ambient light.

There's nothing else I'd want to change so for now I've just pulled a fuse for ASD and can't justify £31 to change lighting.

I haven't had a chance to drive mine a lot since I got it earlier in the week but what's with the speed warning that comes up all the time when you pull away from a stop? I need to get rid of that as well as the warning on the infotainment display every time you get into the car.

The M2 forums had cheat sheets for various items to code. Are they the same for other platforms? If not does anyone have a guide to doing the typical changes such as remove the warnings on the infotainment display, etc?

were those for ESys though? You dont need cheat sheets for bimmer code as the app is really easy to use.

Just browse the menus and settings. Not hard at all. Prefer the ENET plus Belkin Ethernet + lightning since you can charge phone and have a wired connection to the ECUs during coding. Would hate to have a Bluetooth issue in the middle of a write...

Other common little things are removing the camera and iDrive warnings - waiting for the camera disclaimer to clear when you’re trying to see curbs is annoying.

I sent the V-gate back as it is just not suitable for the job. It connected and I got in, of sports, but it couldn't code. I'm waiting on the arrival of a Unicarscan so I can do a few tweaks. This is apparently the most useful of the tools needed for the job and Bimmercode recommended it when I ask them about my V-Gate issues. Lights, stop/start, noise on locking, maybe the rear camera on longer, video in motion and a couple of others to sort.

Coded my car with unicarscan. All modules will be available. It's the best adapter as of now. Here is a link from a UK site.

I got mine in 10 days to NY. I also listed some of the codes I did in another post I started last week.

Yeah but I did some advance coding with the M2 that required some cheat sheets. I was wondering if there's any good changes that required advanced coding but upon connecting it's clear the X3M's have more features activated from the factory compared to the F87 vehicles so most of the popular changes are more straightforward.

Does anybody know if a K+DCAN cable will work on the x4 m40?
