Didn't really try doing a MY24. Dealers around me are dumping inventory of their 23s and rates are finally going down to where I can somewhat stomach it.. Are there any differences I should be aware of from MY23 to MY24? Was there an LCI jump?

I believe there are very few differences b/w a MY23 and MY24. I do know more features became available again for MY24 (HUD was not available for my X3 xDrive30i, no passenger lumbar support, and it was hard to find the HK package on lots last year).

All things being equal, a MY24 will always be worth more than a MY23 purchased at the same time (think resale value). It really depends on how much discounting is available on the MY24.

Can you share the build of the $58k MSRP xDrive30i? It must be fully loaded to be touching the price of an M40i!

FYI: the LCI happened from MY22

Got it. It does tick a lot of boxes for the build and for the same build of what we would want for m40 would be a 20k jump.

This build has shadowline, m sport, parking assistance, premium, remote engine start, wireless charging.. there might be more.

My build was nearly identical except it didn't have Shadowline and M Sport for $54k MSRP.

Make sure you're ok w/not having passenger lumbar support as you have been warned! I don't know if you consider yourself an audiophile but the standard HiFi audio system is straight garbage (wish I could go back in time...)!

Nice and yea good to know on the lumbar and audio. The car is for the fiancé, doubt she will tell the difference. I’m just over riding in her beater Lexus.

Since this will be her car, the passenger lumbar adjustment is even more important for you! Lol!

For me there's no difference between 23 and 24 beside the MSRP. If you are not worry about the resale value and was able to get discount on 23, I would say you make a good purchase, congrats and enjoy!

What's up. Im new to the forum, long time lurker.
Looking to get into a 2024 X3 30i, it's loaded with M package.
I'm hoping somebody here and help my smooth brain understand
If the lease residual is calculated on the MSRP, where does the sale price come in?

I got quoted the following in SOCAL 7.5% tax, I forgot to ask the MF that is where they are getting me probably.
I thought the sale price was great, but they are screwing in the other numbers.
MSRP = 56070
Sale Price =52000
Residual = 57%
Down Payment = 3895
Monthly = 771.00

What you guys think of the numbers?

Assuming 36 months and 10k miles/year, my input into Leasehackr came up with a money factor of 0.003 (7.2% APR). Yes, they killed you with the MF!

Working Up from Invoice vs Down from MSRP

Just curious on your thoughts. Looks like the car market for buyers has improved significantly from the post COVID era. I am seeing more BWMs on the lots now. I was thinking of offering Invoice + $500 on the following:
2024 X3 30i Xdrive with $4,900 Options.

Invoice + $500 = $51,515
- $4K incentives = $47,515
- $8K trade-in = $39,515
+ tax/fees + $1,250

Balance = $40,769

This is a total of $7,280 off their original MSRP offer, or 13% off their MSRP. Aggressive I know.

You can use the incentives to get you close to the original invoice number but no dealer is going to deduct incentives from your first number. I doubt any dealer will give you nearly $2300 below invoice (there are holdbacks but not that high!).

Something tells me this won't fly.

This was possible before COVID, especially if you interested in an in-stock car that’s been sitting a while during the last couple days of year. Not sure if current supply is enough for dealers to do $500 over invoice but it doesn’t hurt to try.

Just bought my first BMW this week! I had a picture of a BMW on my wall growing up as a pipe dream (I did not grow up in a family with any wealth at all) so it’s awesome to see one in my garage now.

2024 X3 m40i
$66,935 MSRP
-$4,016 in discounts and markdown
$62,919 Selling Price
$4541.35 total taxes (IL) & fees (had $1,995 Ceramic Coat they “put on all the cars” taken off though the product is on the vehicle)
-$10,500 trade value (up from initial $9.5k offer)
-$5,000 cash down
$52,085 financed (60 months @ 3.99% BMWFS promotional rate)

I declined all the extended warranties and other F&I goodies. I am maybe reconsidering doing a BMW extended warranty but may just set the equivalent cash aside and “self insure”.

I feel like I got a fair deal. Absolutely loving the X3 so far!!

It was 3 intense days of intense negotiating, but I think I got a great deal. 2024 X3 30i, sDrive with three options: Metallic Black paint ($650), Premium Pkg ($3550), and Parking Asst Pkg ($700)
Base Price I paid: $44,838
+ Options $ 4,900
+ Tax/Title/Fees $ 1,245
Adj Price $50,983
- Finance Incentive $1,000
- Military Rebate $3,000
- Trade-In $8,000
Adj Price $38,983
- Loan $20,000
- Cash Down $18,983
Lessons learned: After my initial test drives, looking at options, colors, meeting the salesman/manager, I absolutely did not return to the dealership until the deal was done. Despite them calling me three times, asking me to come back in to negotiate, I made all offers from home via text, email and phone calls. I picked the 30i because that's the X3 they had to most of. You have less leverage with rarer vehicles (MC, 40i, etc). I was not picky on color. Saved $2k on the sDrive vs the xDrive. It's flat, sea level, and rarely ices where I live. I worked 3 other BMW dealers within a 3 hours drive of my local area. I started my negotiating from the Invoice number up and not their MSRP down. Though I was initially gonna pay cash, I took the financing for the $1K discount. Finance manager said I needed to make 4 monthly payments, then could pay it off. Finally, I had patience. I was willing to wait until the end of the year if necessary. I was the last customer in the dealership on Christmas Eve Eve. They threw in a rear cargo mat and 3 free oil changes. It was very, very stressful, but also thrilling. Wish it wasn't that way.

You almost certainly do not need to make a minimum number of payments before paying off unless it has that language in the contract (which is rare). This is just the Finance Manager trying to avoid a chargeback. Screw them IMO if they want to mislead you like that! I’d also think twice about doing business with a dishonest dealership in the future too.

Skywalker80 you know it comes with free basic maintenance (oil changes) for 3yrs/36k miles right? And as Chitown_vroom mentioned, you don't need to make a minimum amount of payments before paying it off. If you got the $1k off, then you most likely financed through BMWFS and there is no minimum payment time period.

Congrats on the new ride.

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but the December program base rate is 2.99 for 60 months. So either credit influenced this or the dealer took 1% for themselves, which is not uncommon.

I just wanted to correct this for anyone else reading.

Interesting. That’s what I see on the BMW FS if I look now but at the time the 2.99 rate was only advertised for the lower trim. The m40i was shown as 3.99%. I checked when I did the preapproval on the BMW FS site.

Who knows I guess. Even at that rate they still beat my usually unbeatable USAA rate by a LOT.

All good it’s only a few bucks a month difference. I just have a pet peeve against dealers pulling these type of antics behind the scenes on unexpecting innocent customers. I think it’s dishonest practice and I’d never use that dealer again in my life and would make sure to tell them so.
