X3 Interior Colors- Help!
Hi- Pulling the trigger on a '23 X3.
I'm set on the M Sport Package with Extended Shadowline in Alpine White. Would love the 20inch black wheels but need AS tires so sticking with the standard 19inch. I'm torn on the interior color: Love the Tacora Red-- will I get tired of it? Is it trendy? Cognac seems very orange to me Canberra Beige is great, although I'm worried about color transfer and generally keeping it clean. Would love to hear input/see pics of what you have, love and why! |

I've just got an X3 M40i in Brooklyn Grey with Cognac interior. I absolutely love the interior - really lightens things up inside whilst hopefully being a bit more practical than Oyster. It looks orange in photos but not in person. My wife describes it as "tan" if that helps.

I did dark graphite over cognac. Toyed with the idea of mocha but it was too dark for my
Taste. I liked the contrast of the cognac against the dark exterior paint. As much as I dig a red interior I personally felt it would tire of it after a while. Also I personally would pair it with a grey exterior Last few cars all had black interior and I wanted something different. The cognac added a nice classy pop of color against the dark grey. For white you really can’t go wrong with any color interior you choose. It’s a nice backdrop for any color interior (maybe except oyster but to each their own) |

I went with cognac. It’s awesome. I think it looks more orange in pictures than real life, but it is more orangey than some other interiors of a similar color.
Beige will be a great choice too. Makes for a nice bright interior. Usually it’s oyster that has issues with color transfer. I’m not a fan of red. Have fun deciding!

Cognac is not orange to my eyes. I have it and love it. Extremely durable and has not shown any color transfer or wear after 30k miles. Great color contrast and looks very upscale. Mocha is very dark. Red is cool if you are looking for a sportier interior vibe, ie alongside carbon fiber trim.

The Tacora Red leather does not wear well, I’ve seen so many pre owned ones and the color doesn’t wear well at all. Not sure about the Senatec. But you lose the seat width adjustment on Sensatec.
Tacora Red use to be a rare color, no longer the case, it’s as plentiful as Cognac. BMW really needs to come out with some new colors and add the seat width adjustment to sensatec. There are so many other variations to brown, the mocha is too dark. |

I've got Cognac leather and I like it very much. As others have said, it's not orange when you live with it. That said, had Tacora been available in leather (or maybe at all) when I ordered, I would have totally gone for it. It looks really cool to me! |

20" all season shouldn't be a problem. Michelin Crossclimate2 or Pilot Sport. You can always go up one size in aspect ratio if needed just like in a 21". I'd go cognac. Not a fan of white. Most popular colors are white, black, grey. I'd go blue exterior cognac interior. Sharp.

Alpine White, Black Vernasca and 20" rims. I had one car (1999 SAAB 9-3SE) with beige interior and was showing wear after just a year. After that, every leather car I've had was black interior.

20 inch with red Sensatec gets my vote. I saw one at the dealer when I was picking up my Phyto over Cognac and loved it.

I have a 23 M40i in alpine white with Shadowline & 20 in 787’s I’ve always had lighter interiors & went black this time. I was a little nervous waiting for it to be built, but I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Only one day with Tacora Sensatec but I like it so far. As others have mentioned, this is not a bright red and more of a subdued color. If you want a color that really “pops” this may not be the one to get (it’s not like the Lexus red interiors for example). But if you want an alternative to black that is still somewhat restrained this is pretty good imho.
In terms of leather vs sensatec, I’m quite pleased with it. I have only ever had leather in prior BMWs because sensatec was so bad before. But this latest generation feels great. |

Didn't realize my 20" black non-RFT selection would come with summer tires.
May have to remedy that sooner rather than later being from the Northeast

I was disappointed when I saw the Cognac leather. Each to their own, but I thought it was too orange. I had hoped it would be a more natural tanned color. The sales staff often referred to it, in combination with the black interior trim sections as a "Halloween" interior.
Since I definitely didn't want a black interior I went with the Mocha leather. I wish it was slightly lighter but I still like it. Many makes don't offer a Mocha type color and for that reason it's somewhat unique, and I like that. Some of the interior choices of the X4, X5 and above are beautiful but unfortunately not available back in 2020 on the X3. |
