Good Place to buy a Rolex

So I'm looking to get a black on black SUB. It will be my first Rolex.

I don't want to purchase new but would like to get in good condition from a reputable shop. Does any one have a recommended online sellers that are good and reputable? My budget is 4-6k.

Thanks in advanced.

DavidSW - big reseller on Rolex forums. Not exactly the cheapest (still cheaper than AD) but will be very safe.

That's funny you said that. I was browsing their site just now. Prices seem a bit steep for pre-owned. But watched do look mint.

Anything else out there?

Go with David... You may be able to work with him a bit on the price but he only sells top notch examples and his descriptions of condition are BEYOND accurate... Multiple deals with him including trades with zero issues. He's a great guy!

Keep an eye on the Hodinkee watch shop. Just keep in mind that Rolex watches disappear quickly, so if you see one you like don't wait around.

OP, do your homework when making such a expensive timepiece purchase. Keep in mind, Rolex prices usually increase around 2-5 percent around January. I don't know why that is, just know they increase in price. I have two Rolex pieces, a SS Submariner, and a Oyster Perpetual Datejust, and I love them both. I like to switch them up, but most days, I'm wearing my all black Tissot Quicksilver. Good luck OP.

You can find used Rolex on watchuseek or the rolex forums that offer much better deals than buying new or from AD.

Davidsw is well known and one of the safest used luxury watch sellers. You can't go wrong with him.

Just remember to "buy the seller" when you are making these types of transactions.

the rolex forums... I went through Briboxer out in California and I highly recommend him. Brand new Seadweller for quite a bit off MSRP. Overnight shipping. LOVE IT. Two of my friends also just purchased through him: GOLD GMT Master II, and Platinum Yachtmaster 2. Both are very happy as well.

I'll get flamed but why not give Ebay a try? Ebay is just an online auction site not a jewelry store. There are good vendors and bad vendors but their feedback system is great so the "buy the seller" rule still applies. I bought two Rolexes from Ebay. My Expy II and my wife's Ladies Datejust and didn't have an issue with either. When you get it take it to an AD and spend $50 to have it checked out. If it turns out to be a sham file a PayPal claim and get your money back and no harm done but I suspect if you do your research and buy the seller you won't have an issue. Good luck.

Living in the Northeast. I've purchased both my Rolex watches in NYC. Both from Tourneau. My third one will be from them too.
