check this out, those 2 tone red/black leather seats look awesome! why can't they put those in the M3/M4? figured they would save an option like that for a full blown M
also like this exterior shot, starting to grow on me, I have a feeling in person this looks much better too. I remember seeing the X6 in photos and thinking it looked bad, but then seeing it in person with M Sport package I changed my mind. These cars are like art, some people hate it and others love it. I can't stand the droopy Q5/Q7 look, slanted rear, think it looks far worse than their last gen, but others really like the new styling, same with GLC coupe (think X4 looks better even though trunk is similar).

My wife drove the first generation X4 and did not like it; she elected to purchase X5. The new X4 appears to be much better.

It's certainly growing on me. Interior is a home run in that red color. Very high quality of materials and everything looks screwed together solidly.

I sat in a new X3 M40i at the auto show and was quite impressed inside and out.

Did you consider that there could be HEIGHT concerns with placing an SUV seat into a sedan?

Macan is still better looking and well just a better car for car pple, IMO; however this iteration of X4 is no doubt looking good. Some power bump too. Way to go BMW.

Anyone know why they changed the placement of the model/trim badges on the back of the car?

I thought they looked weird being so low on the X2, but the placement looks worse on the X4 for some reason.

Don’t understand all this hate on the rear! Looks sharp and modern to me, problem is that pretty much every tail light design has been done at some point or other over the last 50 years, trying to be too different just results in some OTT wacky design that looks silly!

Don’t know why anyone would order one without a full de-badge anyway!?

Yes Porsche got the Macan design right first time, unlike the Cayenne. It’s a pretty SUV for sure, but should a 4x4 look pretty is the question!? Many people want chunky, rugged (ugly!?) looks for their SUV so the X4 may do nicely

Design wise looks like a mercedes coupe suv thing.

its way better than old model, but imho you can make a way nicer small suv - look at Macan and Velar. Those look perfect without stupid coupe shape this thing has. X6 is ok as coupe for those who want but make a sexy little SUV bmw cannot.

Agreed, badges look weird on that flat lower area. Seems like they need to stay within the concave area that's in the middle of every BMW's rear fascia, otherwise they just look out of place.
However on some pictures, as well as on those early uncovered spyshots, you'll notice the badges are placed correctly, within the concave zone, at the top corners of the trunk as has always been the case on BMW X vehicles (until the X2), so maybe the buyer will be able to choose their location?

Interestingly it looks like they changed this during development: http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1416836

I like them up top better too. Also, interesting but I think red might be one of the worst colors for this car. The white and silver ones in those spy photos looked less bloated than this red one does. Not sure if the shape has changed since those spy photos too but I doubt it. The lighter colors look sleeker to me though

Agree with all of you, and thanks for the reference to the change in development - I didn't realize that this was something that started off in a more "normal" placement.

Something like this feels like a "change for the sake of change" and not because there's a purpose around it. The picture of the Merc above makes it seem like a copycat move,
