Sorry - tried looking up in search, got lost.

To use Google Maps Send to Car for routing, using Google Maps on Apple Car Play, need to set up thru Google with the "Account Device or ID" for my car. How do I find that? I'm on BMW Connected Drive. I don't see any such ID in my Connected Drive app.

OK getting closer. Needed to use my ID name in connecteddrive.bmwusa login.

Then using Google Maps “Send to your phone” brought up dialog box that contained “car”. Selecting that, and selecting “send”, Google then says destination sent.

But, going to the car and looking up destinations in Navigation, nothing shows up.
Nothing in the iDrive Nav destinations, or in Google Maps in Apple Car Play.

Don’t know where the destination went. Must be missing something.

My only message is from BMW showing a 6 digit security code sent to me last November. I don’t remember ever using it, but all my connected services seem to be active.

Just no destination info from Google.

Once you have the address on the Google Maps click on "Send to phone". That opens a screen that lets you :Send to car" if you had put in your car info and email as requested.

I have tried doing it this way for a couple of weeks. It says it was sent to car, but it's no where to be found. The feature used to work great in my 2010 M3 back 10 years ago.
BMW, like every other manufacturer, is not putting the research into developing these apps to operate properly. They get it to alpha stage and then just dump it into the marketplace to see what happens. They don't care.

In iDrive did you look in Connected Drive then BMW Messages?

Also your google email and your car (connected drive) email must be the same. BMW Genius should be able to walk you thru the correct set up so it works flawlessly. Mine was a no brainer. Good luck!

No, this is not mandatory. My Google mail is totally different to my Connected account and it works as well. Just tried it yesterday without problems.
