Here's my second take on brackets for my F25. Note how there's significant offset from the two factory mounting holes to the mounting posts for the IC. Also, they're not symmetrical because they shouldn't be to get a proper fitment. The offset for the left and right bracket differ. Measure all the stock parts for fitment and you'll see what I mean.

I'm pretty happy with them. They're super solid and simple and locate the intercooler perfectly. Plus, they cost $5 in hardware store parts and took less than half an hour to fab up. They may not be pretty, but they're perfectly functional.

I need to be more of a fuckin' MacGyver like you are, but the brackets I have are the ones that VRSF sent. Those brackets you made look way solid.

As a side note, here's a mexico log I did tonight after swapping to the AFe filter from BMS intake and flashing Bootmod3 stage 1 (91): http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5c78d182ae729b79a8ca4f3c

Yeah, the temperature rises, but it's still got ~ 30 degrees of headroom. Should have a stage 2 log sometime in the next week or two.

I'm wondering if the VRSF "race" intercooler would be overkill on a stock turbo with mhd stage 2+ tune in our F25 N55's. Or is the mid tier 5 inch VRSF intercooler sufficient?

The race would be extremely overkill, that is designed to dissipate over 800 horsepower.

My most recent log is pretty telling for this, I'm flowing around the amount of air that a stage 2+ tune on the stock turbo would flow and temps are staying below 90F on pulls to 130.

I just installed the same Intercooler to compliment the catless down pipe, GBH+ and Burger intake on a Stage 2+ MHD tune. I did have to drill out the spacer to match up and bend out the support tabs, worked fine. No dyno evidence but fun factor is off the charts. The GBH+ is a must do in my opinion when pushing the boost.

Warmer weather logs after solving my boost target issue. BM3 is having intermittent freeze up issues so there's jumps in IAT, but still staying below 130F on the long pull from 3rd. I'd guess ambient was around 60F.

Not sure if my unit is worse than others, but it feels like it's getting a bit higher than it should be. Tiago@VRSF any thoughts?

How much if any of the bottom plastic tray (attached to front bumper, not belly pan plastic) needs to be cut away? Shame that the supplied brackets don't work. I just did water pump and about to install the VRSF intercooler but it appears I have the same brackets that don't work.

Lol that's depressing, I thought they fixed the problem but VRSF doesn't seem to post much here or anywhere anymore...

You shouldn't have to cut much of the plastic off, just corners that get in the way really.

I just had this installed: https://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-5-street-hd-intercooler-fmic-upgrade-kit-10-18-bmw-x3-35ix-x4-35ix-x4-m40ix-f25-f26-n55.html

Is that not what you’re discussing? It’s on their website. Sorry if I’m missing a key detail here.

I also went with vrsf catted downpipes. Intercooler was straight forward with just a little plastic trimming, and dp’s had no issues and no need to code out a CEL or anything.

Noticeable louder turbo spool and pep in the step, even before tune.
