I do not know and the weird thing is that last time I checked for recalls at the BMW site it said my VIN had no recalls.

think we should be at all afraid that at some point the "updates" are only to close loopholes that allow us to code our cars??
I was going to try and decline all software updates unless its a safety issue. |

Lol right. After I hit you up, I spoke to the SA and I was literally driving...and he was able to remotely restart my HU and other ECUs. I was like, wtf?! I’m thinking E series vehicles may be the safest from BMW getting into it...or maybe if the vehicle’s warranty is up. Anyone that leases their car can just forget about trying to have any say so.

Code off shuffle & code on album art
Greetings,
I use Google Play Music primarily and iDrive always defaults to Shuffle mode. Anyone aware of a code to disable or change default behavior? Also, iDrive does not display Google Play Music album art. Is there a way to code this on? I can see album art when playing mp3s from USB drive. Thanks for your help. Apologies for posting in older old coding forum. |

Sorry if I missed it but is there a way to code the audio and Idrive to shut off on door open? I did this on my 2018 330x GT but I can’t find a similar option on the X3.

My car does this by default. Yours does not? The audio shuts off when the door that was closed LAST is opened. If you are the only person in the car, the audio should stop when you open your door. I am now trying to remember if unbuckling of the seat belt before shutting off the engine matters. I have a vague feeling that if I first unbuckle and then shut off the engine and then open the door, the audio continues. I have to shut off the engine first and then unbuckle. But it's just a feeling. I'll test tomorrow.

New BMW owner (2020 model) and new to coding - OBDLink LX limited functionality
Hello all,
I am having trouble getting the full functionality of Bimmercode. I have a 2020 X3 model. It does not have wireless charging and hence no enhanced bluetooth functionality. I have been trying to code this in with help of some of the previous posts in this forum. I purchased the OBDLink LX instead of the MX version as some of the previous posters have said LX will work. I was able to connect and use Bimmercode app. But ASD option was not even on the list of ECUs. Under Head Unit, there was no option for expert mode. I am guessing it's because of the LX version. I have ordered the MX version. Has anybody else come across this problem? BV |

I doubt that you will not be able to turn ASD off. If every BMW soon has ASD built in by virtue of the ASD module being integrated into the head unit, the head unit will need to include some coding options that will control the ASD sound produced. As long as there is a BMW model with no artificial engine sound, you will most likely be able to code the head unit to "pretend" that it is installed in a car that adds no artificial engine noise. That's basically how coding of the ASD module works now.
The one thing that is certain is that you will not longer be able to use the ASD bypass harness to complete isolate the ASD module from the audio system. |
