But how much did you pay?
Macan is more cramped up than X4, it actually falls in the GLA 45 category and either way the GLA 45 AMG is more fun and faster.
The few times i see Macan drivers here are 55+ grandma's .. with both hand on the steering, I get so excited to see if its someone that will open the throttle a bit so i can hear it or do a little sprint together but no..

Hard pass.

X3 M40i would make a lot more sense.

But that interior... Yuck! Too much like an X3 and not enough like a 3 or 4. The dashboard material looks pretty bad, just from the image I'm guessing it also feels pretty bad/cheap.
f30 interior has far more hard feeling cheap plastic than the F25/F26 - especially those with sensetec vinyl. However BMW slightly improved the interiors of the F3x models for 2016.

Again awaiting a true badass X4M. The X4 needs to be taken to the next level, because it is the right size for us. It is not to small and it is not to big, but the M division needs to get their hands on it performance and design wise. Because it is lacking of what I require in a badass ride.

Why you guys think the Macan looks good. It looks awful in person. That excessively sloped rear roof take away from the looks big time. And it doesn't help that it's a very short suv. Not that I'm saying this x4 looks good. It looks droopy just like the other bmw sav.

Why don't we just slap an M badge on all BMWs and get this over with? They need to stop diluting the M brand with crap cars like this.

Sensatec covers the seats and the door inserts. It's the same on any model of BMW that offers that material. I'm mainly referring to the dashboard, though I disagree with you that the F3x has more cheap plastic than the X3, let alone "far more." Check your bias, maybe go take a second look. In a similar fashion the X3 also extends the lifetime of older tech - example being key fobs and shifters.

But hey I apologize if I offended. Point being, the dash of the lesser X SAV models is noticeably more hard/plastic in feel and appearance compared with what's in BMW cars. The F30 dash isn't the greatest thing in the world, but in my opinion it is a very good example as non-leather dashboards go.

In the X4, I haven't been paying attention but I didn't think they would apply the X1/X3 style. A little disappointing at this price point and segment.

I was waiting for this car and I drove it at a BMW Autocross event, it drives great and feels nice with wider wheels which help the tucked in look but I still cant get over the interior, and at the price point of over 60k with options I think the Macan is the better choice but how was "buying" at Porsche, Im looking at a GTS for about 73k, do they discount nicely or is it close to sticker, do they have Balloon financing or good lease rates, I want to keep the payment around $750 with 10k down so I would need a nice discount or a good balloon finance option to make that work. BMW rates for the X4 are extremely high as well from what I saw.

If the interior looked like the F30 people would be complaining less about it for sure. Having cross shopped the X3 and 3 series there is little doubt in my mind

I've been panning the interior since I was in year 2 of a lease with a 2013 X3. It does need upgrading and refreshing no doubt.

That said, my wife absolutely fell in love with X4 after test driving the Lexus RX and LS I think it is.

Happy wife? Happy Life...

I'm driving the M235i now and having a blast - waiting to see the next gen X4 as this lease ends..

Jumping on a lease myself the MY16 (4yr/50k) warranty is going to be nice to have and hold, as MY17 will be newer cars yes but some ppl will rather not jump into 1st generation of the newer cars (at least me). I'll wait until 2/3rd gen.

Enjoy it! I think the LCI freshened-up the interior since my 2013...I really, really like our 28i X4. Perfect compliment in the garage with my 2'er...
