Stock Intake vs BMS Intake (Dyno) vs Downpipes/Intercooler
Hey guys after lots of data/testing/dyno time/highway pulls/logging I will be creating threads on my results.
To start off this thread to help you guys AVOID spending money on Open Air Intake systems like the BMS one. I have Dyno the stock intake box with stock filter, the BMS intake and the Stock Box with AFE Pro Dry Drop-in Filter. Conclusion: if you want to upgrade the intake just get the AFE Dry Filter for best bang and not lose power after 5000rpm

Green is Stock Intake Box w/ AFE Dry Drop-in Filter
335whp 269wtq at 6500rpm Blue is BMS Intake 317whp 255wtq at 6500rpm Red is fully stock car + Stock Air Box/Paper Filter 315whp 254wtq at 6500rpm (Green and Blue have same mods, except different intake) Bone stock car With Downpipes and Intercooler + Stock Intake With DP/FMIC + BMS Intake With DP/FMIC + Stock Intake and AFE Drop In Filter The Gains with upgrading the Downpipe and Intercooler you can see/feel throughout the whole RPM range more than just peak gains.

FS, thanks for all of your work and dyno assessments.
Looking for the AFE filter and cannot find the one to fit the f26. Did you use the f25 as a fit or other? Thanks. Duke

FS. Got the AFE dry drop filter and have it installed. Thanks for the lead.
I tried to determine filtering capabilities vs OEM paper filter but haven't found info. AFE as a bit vague on the matter. Did you happen to find filtration performance comparisons? Thanks. Duke

K&N 33-2428 High Performance Replacement Air Filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002L4X6BS..._Vw3EAb7HAAS6B
Wonder how the K&N drop-in is compared to AFe dry drop in. BMS intake I switch on n off when I feel like hearing extra noise 😀 Thanks for sharing the Dyno’s FSociety. Proves the butt dyno is correct with the stock airbox 👍🏼 |

I swapped over to the AFe dry filter from BMS today, will hopefully get a log or two to see how it flows in terms of total air compared to BMS.

Apologies that the log is choppy, I think my phone was having a hard time: http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5c78d182ae729b79a8ca4f3c
AFe flows fine, my PS2 with BM3 Stage 1 91 flows ~15-20% more air than the BMS intake did on the stock turbo with stage 2: http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5bda6dbad10b437bd38fa21b I think I have a bad boost solenoid (could be boost leak, but doubt it), which is why I'm not hitting targets. When I get up to Stage 2 and Stage 2H I'll come back with more data.

I also noticed my IAT were better with AFE as well, it will be hard to beat stock intake box.
