Just submitted an order for my first new car! 2022 X3MC

I just had to put this out there because I am beyond excited! Pulled the trigger and submitted an order for an X3MC build and I can't wait! This is my 2nd BMW, currently own an E92 M3 with 268k miles (bought it with 29k in 2013!) !! I was not a believer in the S55/S58, but my lady bought an M2C and I fell in LOVE with the platform! Can't wait to add the X3M to the stable

Spec:
-BGM
-Sakhir Orange
-Red Calibers
-Comp w/892m wheels
-Executive
-Shadowline lights
-Remote start
-50 anniversary emblems

Order status is currently in 047, however was told this should be a May build. How long can I expect to get a production number?

Looking forward to getting to know this community!

-Strick

Congrats!! Very nice spec!! I am also a fellow X3MC'er here in Bucks county! Look forward to seeing you on the road!

Which dealership did you order through?
It really depends on how many allocations the dealership gets per month, and how many people are ahead of you in the order bank. I called around 20-30 dealerships until I found one with a production number.

Congrats on the order! MBB is such a gorgeous color.

Will you be keeping the e92? I love having both an s65 and s58 car in the garage.

Congrats.
I too was hesitant coming from a GM LS3 (6.2L V8), but man I love running the S58 through the gears. Reminds me of some sort of mill with how smooth it is.

Hey! Small world, I think I saw you rolling around a few weeks ago and was one of the reasons I went down this rabbit hole!

I was going to give my business to Thompson, however decided not to after they changed their mind on my deposit being refundable when I went to place my order. Called about 10 other dealers in the area and Reading BMW said they had a May build for me. Took them up on it, build sheet says I'm in 047 status which is an order queue, and expect a production # within the next week or so. Hope that holds up!

I thought long and hard about this and decided not to keep her. If I had garage space for a project I would turn the car into a mild fun track toy. Just not in the deck of cards of for me now.

Congratulations! You are going to be blown away by the capability of the car. I have the pre LCI version and it is some vehicle. The LCI is just even better!

I worked with both those dealerships in the past. I had no issues with either and both keep their word. I used Rob Koch at Reading and Raul Jiménez at Thompson, both reputable salesmen.

Raul was my point of contact @ Thompson, he's their "M" guy. Spoke to him a few times over the course of a few weeks getting details on a potential deal structure. More than a few times it was confirmed that my deposit would be refundable, up until the day I called him to pull the trigger on an order. All the sudden his sales manager wanted to wait for a customer who would cough up a non-refundable deposit. I understand why they would want to do that, however tell me that the first go around! Felt slighted. Told him exactly that the following day via text. He responds back a few hours later saying he went to the GM and got approval for a refundable deposit. Too late, already gave my business to Reading.

Working with James @ Reading, seems like a really nice guy. Submitting my order took all of 5 minutes, got a build sheet and receipt for my deposit stating its refundable another 5 minutes later.

Status 047, order Q. But was told it will be a May build.

Did Raul have an allocation? If so I would of went with that. If Reading is claiming they will get one with a May build you are looking at delivery late summer if everything goes smoothly. But in this current world nothing goes smoothly. My M3 build went from week 7-8-10-11-12-18 (then switched to individual) and now week 25. LOL

I signed two "non-refundable" deposits in the past on M3's and had both of them refunded before they went into production. I think the "non refundable" thing is only for once it hits production which is understandable.

Made a few more calls and found a dealer with a production # available. Now sitting at status 111, hope its scheduled for production sometime in the next week or two!

Also made the change to Brooklyn Grey!

Brooklyn gray will pair much better with Sakhir orange interior IMO. I'm not one for the superman combo.

If you go back to MBB consider tartufo!

I've been stuck between literally all the colors, they're all awesome on this car! Going to stick to this one, it's the first that caught my eye, looks best with the Sakhir which is the interior I wanted also. Can't wait now!

BGM will look awesome, as all the colours do

I do however prefer MBB, my car is the superman spec and wouldn’t change it now I have it. I will get some pictures up soon

I had the same problem...I knew i was going to go with a signature color but had such a hard time picking. I also knew i would get Sakhir like my x6. Final choice....Nardo Grey...I like brooklyn grey but im from queens and as petty as it sounds I couldnt own a color named brooklyn lol.

Good choice! I would have gone Nardo if it weren't an individual color. I almost got Brooklyn but because I was unable to view an X3 in that color I didn't know if I would like it.

Good for you. I love it when these dealers get called on their BS sales practices. I walk out once my low tolerance level is reached.

I walked year ago from an extremely rude dealer (Nissan) who said I was "wasting his f'in time" (they would not honor the price they gave me over the phone).

Next day he calls me trying to get me back in and I said I already purchased. He asked if I could share what I paid and I said "Nope, none of your business"
