ConnectedDrive system reboot loop after Nav update

I've just installed the Europe Next 2018-2 map update and now my nav system goes into a constant reboot loop. After the Nav system finishes starting up it seems to almost immediately crash and cause a reboot of the whole entertainment system.

Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas how I can fix it?

Is this a legal copy NBT 2018-2? I did not think BMW had released it yet. If it is an illegal copy, get NBT 2018-1 on a USB. Plug it in and configure it as you did NBT 2018-2.

I-Step update

2012-2013 cars are using an old firmware on the HU, hence they can't show the content of the new map and it will restart the HU. So an ECU update of HU_NBT must be done.
You can do it at home also, as I just done mine with E-Sys and the full version of E-sys PSdZData.
I had my I-Step version 12-07-533 and went to 18-03-532.
Be aware it will take like 1 hour if you have the basic hard drive. I have upgraded to SSD and my job was completed in 28 minutes.
You will need a power charger if you don't want to mess the ECU during the update.

Thanks for the info!
Do you know if BMW has issued a technical bulletin about this issue and whether dealers will do the upgrade free of charge?

You will get charged for the job Unless you are buying the map from the dealer and have them to do the update and complain afterwards that is restarting.
Have in mind that the HU will not restart when the car is standing still, only when moving is restarting

Interesting.

Mine continues to reboot even when stationary (engine running and on ignition only)

Did you fix the problem after the 2018-2 map update or after a previous map update?

Does anyone know how to determine if BMW is aware of the problem and whether they have issued a bulletin on it?

There is no bulletin of changelogs or something.
I downgraded mine from 2018-2 to 2017-1 and stayed on 2017 for couple of months and decided to flash my NBT and after on my way back home from work I started the update to 2018-2. are you sure yours is restarting when you have your gear in Parking(auto) or N (manual) and handbrake on?

Mine resets only when driving. When I fresh start the engine and didn't move at all, worked.

Yes, it reboots every 50 seconds whether parked or moving.
I'm going to take it to an independent and get the software updated - he told me that generally fixes things

I got an indie to try and update the firmware but this failed and he says that the only solution is to replace the unit which costs more that £1,000

I am going to take legal action on the basis that BMW has broken the system

I have exactly the same problem with my 2013 X3 following a map update.

Did this get fixed?
