Your powertrain warranty and BMW will find out. The flash counter changes and the discrepancy is noted. They have been very strict about this and understand you have been warned. Quality companies like Noelle and Carbahn offer warranties and Noelle even notifies BMW they modded the car.

I reached out to them (noelle) this weekend as well. A couple of things:
1. Ron was very responsive with my questions. 2. Warranty goes out the window if you've been tuned previously. 3. Apparently dynos are the devil and will murder your car while it sleeps. 4. It "doesn't" affect your warranty because safeguards aren't messed with? - um pretty sure I've seen this on every tune I've considered. 5. Was told if Bmw won't honor warranty to call them and they will work with dealer. 6. They have no understanding or agreement with bmw that their tunes are safe, etc. 7. It's $2,499 PLUS installation which includes fresh oil. Haven't gotten a price on the installation part yet since I'm still struggling with their it doesn't affect your warranty claim |

I've been trying to get more info on the Manhart box also. I don't think they speak too much English cause the responses I get aren't detailed and only answer some of my questions. That's about 1900 euro and 'probably' installs the same as a racechip/jb4. I'd also have to guess it's not a fast delivery option either. So unless I can get something firmer than "trust me your warranty isn't affected" from noelle, or Dinan comes out with something pretty quick, I'm leaning towards racechip. ...Queue Ben on how awesome it is...

Aren't the 'boxes' similar to piggy backs, ala JB4 ? It seems that even piggy backed setups can trigger certain tell tale signs that data log themselves into your history

You need to type "@" then my username selection will pop-up, then select my username. RaceChip has been great since week one of ownership. I added XLR (The pedal tuner), car is more lively than stock. And even better when you do 20% E85 mix for us Californian. Oh, and those Euro boxes. Rumor is, only a handful of manufacturer made them. Others are private labeling.

XLR is throttle pedal tuner. So, you can dial your gas pedal sensitivity. Will work on any driving mode.

1st, because I only had my car stock for a week. 2nd, I've been trying to catch the low-end torque situation and it is not always consistent where it occurs. So far, I only able to replicate it when I didn't do a full stop, then step on the gas again. For example; I am coming up to a red light, so I am slowing down. But before I come to a full stop, the light turned green. When I step on the gas pedal, that's when I feel lack of low-end torque. But, I think mainly because of the transmission is stuck at the higher gear or doesn't down shift enough. So, to answer your question, I don't think I feel the lack of low-end torque as much as what has been discussed. But again, I have more mods that what XLR itself will help on the low-end torque.

Another example.
I just dyno the F95 X5MC with secondary cat delete. When I drove it stock, the car do feel sluggish. Even with RaceChip. It doesn't pickup until 2500-3000 rpm. But with secondary cat delete, even though the whp and wtq drop a little bit, but I gain hp and tq at lower RPM. Now it moves much easier than before.
