Speed limit display

In week 3 ownership of my MY20 X3 20i in UK with Premium, comfort and mSport plus pack. Can't figure out how to get the speed limit info on centre console or HUD. Chatted with the online genius and he confirmed that it is a standard option on X3 - Is that true or just another online genius who didn't really turn out to be one?

Speed display +

It should be there, it’s detailed in the“car specific “ on board manual , has any one noticed they do not have anti dazzle on the passenger wing mirror? Or is it only mine ?Had it on my last cars F30.
All the brochures and spec say “folding electric mirrors with anti dazzle”
BMW cost cutting, hoping no one will notice
Otherwise the car is great

Speed limit info used is or at least it used to be part of the driving assist package... Unfortunately. Hoping there is a way to get this coded separately, as I probably have all the hardware required.

I cant seem to get it on mine either. If it is tied to Driving Assistant pack then the manual doesnt seem to make this clear.

The speed limit info I believe comes from both map and the driver assistance camera spotting signs. Without the camera it probably won't work.

I do have the camera but not the speed limit info
(See post no.2 above)

I've had a look in the Uk sales brochure for the G01 X3 & this is what it says for the 'Driver Assistant' pack

No mention of the speed limit info

I don’t think it’s mentioned at all in the brochure

On my G01 s30i with basically zero options, the speed limit info was present in idrive when I picked up the car. Unfortunately for me, it would refer back to kph on each key cycle. The vehicle went back to the dealer for a check engine light 1 day after delivery. I took it in for service and also mentioned the this issue as well.

After waiting for a part for almost 30 days, the vehicle was returned after the 02 sensor was replaced, and the option for speed limit info in the display in idrive was gone. The service ticket said there wasnt a "fix" from BMW for the display. I coded it back in with Bimmercode and it works again, and stays in MPH.

It would seem there are different software options, so you may get different answers from folks who have different software. In my case, I dont think it was an option to begin with potentially.

When i was looking for a X3 m40i then you had to have the drive Ass Plus to get SLI. I am sure that it could be coded in, but you have to buy some licence or something for £200 or so. There was a thread on here somewhere about it

yes it's the FSC code you need to activate sli, can only be bought from BMW (or somebody in the know that can get hold of them from BMW) and from memory they're about £175 give or take.

That's correct. Dealer called someone at the Southampton PDI centre to confirm. All UK cars have the hardware installed but you need this driver assistance pack to "activate" the speed limit info. Pretty lame BMW, why not save on the hardware cost too!

Bought the car from Park lane BMW in London (the only BMW owned dealership in UK) and their after sales unit declined to provide the FSC even at an additional cost because the car doesn't have driver assistance option... super frustrating as otherwise the HUD is pretty meaningless day to day.

Agree, confusing documentation all over. The car handbook manual has the steps to activate it even without the package, BMW genius says it should be standard and the dealership says you need the driver assistance pack!

Complete rip off. The X1 loaner I have at the moment has this and it is only a base model - it doesn't even have front parking sensors. So the equipment is clearly there on all models but BMW want to fleece you out of more money.
