My car arrived at the dealership today... it was ordered in March, just yesterday I had a big argument and if it wasn't like that I would only receive the car next year...

I would not mind but we had been offered another last week which was actually in stock so we would have found another one.

We will definitely will be looking at other cars when we change next.

Do you know the name of the ship that is bringing your car in?

Hope all goes well.
I got a call back and apparently my car is infact at the dealership ready to head to the workshop - although with their incompetence goodness knows how long that will take. Absolutely bonkers.

To be honest we think it is not going to arrive before New Year, even if it arrives by the time they have the PDI and the update it will be to late.

I went onto Genius today and it is still in Southampton so we now thinking early January for delivery and a 2023 registered car.

We cannot believe after waiting 7 months that this is still happening, this car has certainly got a lot to live up to.

How about your delivery any news.
Spoke to the dealer today...10th of jan

Car arrived on the 12th of December.

I can't even be bothered to fight BMW anymore

It’s a complete joke really. There doesn’t seem to be any urgency given how many times they have changed the delivery dates and disappointed customers

I spoke to my dealer a couple days ago who now says it’s due to them on the 4th Jan (previously 6th Jan) and the technical campaign on it had been completed. However when I check the BMW recall status it says it’s still outstanding. Genius confirms 4th Jan but subject to change blah blah…

Will speak to dealer again today and have also submitted a formal complaint to BMW

Keeping fingers crossed it turns up in the next few days but I’m not convinced

We were promised yesterday that the car was on a trailer and would be
delivered today but low and behold it is still in Southampton.

Was just wondering has yours arrived?

Update from my dealer today who also confirms the car is now with them. Expecting to pickup 6th Jan.

Hopefully no more delays and can start enjoying driving the car soon

What a present for the end of the year. Same spec as mine (still waiting). It looks glorious. I bet you were like a kid on the first drive

Collecting mine from the Leasing company tomorrow. Not waited long at all really and feel for those that have waited months and months - although I ordered the car from Stock and not to my desired specification, so that's the price i've paid for getting the car sooner rather than later.

One thing I have taken from this is that when I am looking to purchase a car in future, i'd certainly think twice before having to deal with BMW again.

Other brands are worse.

Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Polestar, Audi Q4 eTron. You're looking at 12-24 months. Imagine waiting 2 years for a car.

It's not the wait that's the problem - it's the customer service. If i'm ordering a new car and i'm told it will be 12-24 months then that's not an issue.

I've got multiple colleagues that all went for the Polestar because it had the shortest lead time. Originally it was meant to be 6 months (or so they were told), it's now 8 months later and most are being told summer this year. Same with a couple who went for the hybrid Cupra Formentor. I ordered mine on the 31st of August and took delivery before the year was out.

The biggest issue with a 1-2 year wait is by the time you actually get your car something better has come along. Especially with electric cars as manufacturers are moving fast to keep ahead of each other. I mean look a the iX3. It got a really quick facelift before any of the original had even hit the road in the UK (give or take). Not knocking any that have the pre-LCI, but personally I am not a fan of the exterior as I prefer the sharpness of the LCI, and the interior looks outdated in comparison. I know it was just a few small changes but it made a huge difference overall. The pre-LCI looks like the same interior from my 2014 3 series bar the digital cockpit. If I'd taken delivery of one of those after seeing photos of the new one I'd be pissed.

I would say we have the same car but my "snout" has a black surround rather than the silver. I've noticed that all UK M Sport Pro car's seem to be black there whereas the European one's all seem to be silver.

Was it an option between the two in Europe?
