2019 X3 list of updates

Here are some new updates for MY2019

- PDC is now standard.
- Active Guard is standard ( FCW with auto-brake and pedestrian detection)
- Speed limit info standard on cars with Nav
- CD player goes bye bye unless you order Nav
- M Sport steering wheel only on M40i
- ZDA no longer requires ZPP
- M Sport Diff optional on M40i

Still in the air: USB C replaces USB A

You mean M Sport steering wheel FINALLY for M40i?

I also wonder if this is region-specific.

Maybe this means only M40i models in international markets now get the M Sport steering wheel; 30i/30d M-Sport models would get the regular wheel. Meanwhile, the US continues to get the regular sport wheel no matter the model?

If I order a 2019, it's not going to be an X3...

I'm holding off on placing my sunglasses and keychain order!

$350 base MSRP increase for 30i and $150 on 40i but that could change.

I have a 2019 and it has USB A still.

I find it hard to believe that the X3 M40i will get the M Sport steering wheel but the X4 M40i will not? That's really ballsy for BMW to just seemingly arbitrarily going along with this.

Also, why in the world would they change USB A to USB C? Almost no one will have a USB C connector to their phone. It's always a USB A to USB C or Lightning cable. Not to mention USB C flash drives.

I had just reached out to BMW NA about the 710 steering wheel. Here’s what I got today:

“Your request for assistance has been escalated to me. I reached out to our product advocate and unfortunately, the 710 Msport Steering wheel was not offered on the MY18 X3 and there is no retrofit to get the steering wheel added. Also, there is no information regarding this option being offered on the 2019 model at this time.

I do apologize for any incovenience, however, BMW NA will not be able to assist you any further with this matter.”
