Well, it wasn't fun and I still have to wait to see how it cures over the next few days but the Lamin-X headlight film looks pretty good. I did "tint" on my car and Gunsmoke on the wifes.

I also:
-Had the front and windshield done in ceramic tint - 70% windshield, 30% front
-Switched the fake side vents from cerium to gloss black to complete the shadowline look

I wasn't looking for privacy with the tint, just heat rejection. I think it looks pretty good.

Did my 2nd oil change since purchasing the car. I just used Mobil 1 0W-30 ESP from my local autozone. Not LL approved but it does meet ACEA-C3 so I figured it was close enough. Also rolled over 50k miles recently - forgot I was getting close and missed the milestone odometer pic...

No jack or ramp used for the change. Only challenge with this method is it's a little difficult to keep the torque wrench on the drain plug while torquing it.


Probably the cleanest oil change I've ever done...just a few drops instead of the usual puddle..

Yeah yeah, I'm aware some people don't like them. It's the only added color we have, we like it at this point

1. Disconnect rear 12v battery, just one nut...easy.
2. Open hood, this will disconnect the 48V MH battery...super easy.
3. Pry off rear cap of old knob with supplied trim tool...easy.
4. Remove T10 screw with supplied driver...easy.
5. Lift tab and carefully remove ribbon cable on old shifter...easy.
6. Slide off old knob and replace with Crystal Delight...easy.
7. Replace screw and tighten...easy.
8. Connect ribbon cable with supplied tweezers...easy.
9. Snap-on back cover...there is no seam (yeah) and it feels great...easy.
10. Reconnect battery in boot and close the hood...super easy.
11. Get keys and start car and shift to drive it works perfectly and the "M" logo is lit up...easy.
12. Admire your work, get a beer or soda and check out that shifter...simply a Crystal Delight with light...

The center console rocks, it was missing some razzle dazzle...got it now.

Total time 15 minutes.

Tape the shifter screw on the screw driver, that lil'bastard is hard to get in the hole, once started just pull...easy.

Hope this helps anyone planning this upgrade, I would say a 10 year old could do it with supervision.

Note: No need to disconnect the 48v battery under the hood, opening the hood kicks it out of the circuit.

Added Alcantara trim around the HVAC controls. Its nice and gets rid of the piano black. Only cost a few bucks from Aliexpress. Did the yellow drls which were a pain in the ass.

Did rear brakes today. Zimmerman Rotors and Power Stop Pads . 31,000 Miles, after removing the pads , the outer pad on the right side was worn down more then the inner pad with the sensor. I was replacing the rotors anyway but , there would have been metal on metal before the sensor went off. The rotors were kind of jacked up , not wearing right. You could see it on the outside of the rotor , but the inside was even worse. Check it out . Not sure why , any ideas ??

I found out when on the map screen, pressing the compass icon in the lower left will alternate the map perspective (true north, 3d, direction of travel, and etc).
