Your Opinion Please - Front Brake Replacement
My 2016 X3 had both front and rear brakes serviced about three years ago. New rotors and pads were installed at that time. I’ve since driven about 40,000 kms. The onboard computer tells me that 100k remains on the front brakes and 110k, remain on the rears.
Today well having routine maintenance performed, I was advised the front brakes need service. Replace rotors and pads. I was surprised by this and asked for the work to be delayed. They suggested no later than the fall. I asked if rotors could be turned. They said they didn’t recommend doing so. My question to you is, based on the following pictures, is the dealership trying to rip me off or is there a problem that I should address? and Last edited by rcblackwell; 06-16-2022 at 09:03 PM.. Brakes
Easy enough to check the thickness of the rotors, and pads. The garage should have the details. The minimum recommended thickness are available from various BMW sites.
