I got the Activity Key and accessory kit. (A little less than $150 total thru Houston BMWs online site) Programming was fairly simple, I couldn't find anything online, but I figured it out in about 5mins. You don't need to take it to the dealer to program, just need to provide your VIN when you order. Not sure if it's the actual steps but I put it to the column(where the key emblem is) dash recognized it and I hit the start button. It started. I shut off and had to hold it to the column once again and start. After that it starts and open doors just like any other key would.
I seriously want to mule kick whoever designed this cargo area with the spare tire. Shit keeps falling out. Finally got the rear cargo mat. I found this one for around $67 on Amazon. As you can see it fits pretty good. It was folded so i expect those creases to flatten out over time. I also got my comp grills and vents but will install those a little later... |

I go to beaches, rivers or lakes often. Do stuff like kayaking and swimming, etc and I'd rather not leave my key on shore. The activity key is reasonably waterproof. I wouldn't go scuba diving with it but general water activities are fine. It also serves as an extra key and is actually cheaper than the normal key, so win-win.

Got the comp grills installed, much better. For anyone needing the factory part numbers they are: 51-11-8-098-088 and 51-11-8-098-087. The cheapest I found was the Houston BMW online store. Links below. They list for 81.xx a piece but they have a 10% off code on their site(2020).
https://www.onlinebmwshop.com/oem-pa...11-51118098087 https://www.onlinebmwshop.com/oem-pa...11-51118098088 I also wrapped my strut tower bar. Pain in the ass but came out reasonably well I think. |
