Redstuff = low dust, work well cold even better when hot. I can't find much anything on initial bite but no one has said they are bad so they should be a safe bet.

I don't think there nearly as many running Redstuff's than there are the Posi-Quiet so there's not much 'data' to know for sure.
I am using the Redstuff pads. They are definitely better than the stock pads. I would consider them a sport pad with a good compromise of better initial bite and better stopping power without being noisy or dusty. I am happy with them so far. Note you will get a lot of dust during the bedding process and the first weeks as things level out between the pad and rotor.

For OEM size pad replacement I narrowed it down to hawk 5.0 or EBC Redstuff, not sure about which rotors yet. I have a few questions..

- Can anyone comment on EBC Red vs Hawk 5.0? Which has a better initial bite?

- What is a good place to buy a EBC pad and rotor kits?

- Should I even consider the Centric 10415610 Posi-Quiet pads? Anyone try these on the X3?

Parker,

I'm researching G01 Blue 2 Piston Calipers from the 2019 X3/X4 M40i's. Did you measure the F25 bore size?

The center bore on G01 X3/X4 is 66.6mm and F25 is 72.5mm so you'll need new wheels.

I'm working on a rear upgrade next. With a little luck and ingenuity I hope to have 550i 345mm x 24mm brakes on the back to compliment my X5 50i 365mm x 36mm brakes up front.

Please document this as much as you can, I will likely follow suit!

Why not go aftermarket? I installed the AP Racing Radical1 on my wife's X3 F25 LCI and had the rear upsized to similar rotor size as front ie 370mm 2 pc rotor. However need 19" rims to clear.

Cost is a big consideration. The AP Racing front brake kit for the X3 is around $2600! Even then, the 362mm x 32mm rotors are smaller than the X5 50i 365mm x 36mm rotors, and far smaller than the X5M 395mm x 36mm rotors.

Subsequent replacement and availability of the AP Racing rotors and pads is also far more expensive, with limited choices compared to the aftermarket for the OEM equivalent BMW parts.

Nonetheless, the AP Racing setup is super trick and lightweight and I'm sure your wife loves her brakes. You must love her very much to equip her car so well.

I'd be interested in seeing pics of those rear brakes if you can post some up.

Yikes, $2600 is pretty pricey for brake upgrade- I'll pass.

As requested, see pics. With electronic parking brake, I only do upsize rear. I always do rim/tires and brake upgrades. It is for safety purposes. Save us more than once stopping in time.

Nice rear brake setup.

Off topic, what kind of mileage do you get on a set of the summer/performance tires?

Thanks/Bill

Thanks. Brakes like a dream now and I feel reassured when wife is using it daily.

We just had the car last 6 months as we bought it used and then i modded it. The Michelin PSS is only about 8K km so far.

I am using PSS Porsche specs (NO) tires and they are amazing. On my own F30, I am on 19" PS4S and agree they are amazing when new but rather noisy now. I find the PSS pretty comparable to the PS4S in terms of performance. The PS4S is slightly quieter, better dry grip but similar wet grip. Now in current state, the PSS is quieter eventhough it is wider set up than my F30.

Maybe it varies depending on the size of the tire.
I've taken PSS MO and NO. They are good tires, but the duration is very short.

PS4S at least in my measure, the best results in dry, wet and much longer.

Too new for me to tell if it is more lasting and i may never know as my F30 is not a daily drive.
My wife's F25 covers about 100km daily to and fro for work and it's wearing well.

I am anal on tire pressure so check regularly and I only use N2 so seem to last much longer and wear better.

Nope. Go back and review the earlier posts in this thread on that topic. G series brakes won't fit F series.
