X4 M40i fuel consumption

At the end of my X4 3D lease soon (enjoyed every second of it till now) and so considering a nice X4 M40i (actually it is all sorted out, just need to order ).

I know fuel consumption is not as economic as the 3D, so I am assuming around 12l/100km.

How wrong or correct is this? Very curious to get feedback....

Check my average on Fuelly.

I'm happy so far, even during winter were it's a bit less fuel efficient.

I have averaged 20.6 MPG for the first 7,000 miles. That equates to 11.4L/100km. My driving style is moderate and mostly city driving with the occasional freeway trip at 75 MPH.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

23.2 mpg here (calculated at fill up, .8 mpg better than BMW calculator) 50/50 city/hwy mix. Comfort mode, 13,000 miles on the clock, on Haaka RF winter tires.

You are in the right ballpark. I expekt only slightly higher consumption compared to 35i.

My 35i has an average at 10.2/100, but I have two cars, and my 9000 Turbo used for short "dirty" trips.

Your right foot will ultimately decide.

Thanks all for the useful feedback. Seems not so bad after all.

Have an appointment for a test drive soon, the offer I already have in hand, but I never sign before I have done a test drive. Was a bit worried about fuel consumption, but that's sorted out too.....

Will very likely order my M40i very soon..... and then the waiting begins ..... grrrr
