And here is the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) ECU just for kicks. The only option I dared to code is TCM_MSA_MEMORY from 00 to 01, which makes the car retain the last state of the auto start-stop button (that's the option that BimmerCode changes).

Gugin,

I was able to translate all your submissions from German into English.

Not really much of interest there. Your original HU listing had all sorts of goodies! Oh well.

Good to see all there is to update though!

So much good info in this thread (yea, I read the whole thing... some of it twice) thanks in particular to CVEE for the heads up on the fast wired ENET support and lo_cheng for working out where to hack the tailgate fob button timing.

One thing that threw me initially is the Diagnostic mode can take a few seconds to kick in... Triple-press the start button and may just look like the car's ready to start and that you missed the mark, but let it sit another ~5 seconds for the chime + diagnostic message on the IP to show and you're good to go in Bimmercode.

I did lose some driver-profile stuff, but re-importing restored everything (even the 1-7 shortcut mappings) so make sure you do the Driver Profile > Export to USB first.

First round:
ASD Off (put fuse 218 back in to avoid any potential software-update hiccups)
Warnings off
ASS memory on
Adaptive mode as default
Acoustic Lock beep tone Short, at Low volume
Volume popup off
Tailgate close from fob button
Tailgate fob button press up to 20 (~4 seconds)

Tried some of the different startup animations. I dig the M, but came back to the default one... BMW 1, BMW 2, and Connected Drive 1 all seem to be the same? Rolls Royce sound pack is cute. May take another pass through if any of the X3 M graphics arrive via updates.

Cheers, looking forward to what other bits get uncovered.
What's your view on having the ASD coded off...is the driving experience better or worse?

I read on another thread a guy disabled it but later reactivated it as he missed the sound experience.

Did you find the sound system any better?

I just finished two more today--roof function center and rear tailgate function module. Did not see anything interesting in the rear tailgate module beyond the things that can alredy be coded with BimmerCode. The roof function center ECU has a setting that (I think) can be used to disable the alarm from going off when the car is locked with an adapter left in the OBD port. I'll post the files tomorrow.

The biggest one that still remains is body domain controller. It's got about 2,700 items. Extracting the items is easy--it is done via software. Extracting the comments is the laborious part. The only way I found is to copy them one-by-one from E-Sys to Excel. A lot of CTRL+C and CTRL+V. I'll need a new keyboard after I am done.

Much better for me. I care about the music I listen to, not engine noise. I installed an ASD bypass harness on my HK audio (did not want to pull out the fuse). The audio is night and day to my ears. The ASD module messes around with the audio signal big time.

I cannot take credit for this. Gugin is the true hero!

The items in blue mean I want to see what it does.
The items in green mean that I am curious what mine is set at.

I originally posted the EVO head unit Excel without the coded values (the files I posted subsequently included the values). Should I re-post the head-unit file with values? I found them quite useful. For example, the items I study most closely are the ones whose values are aktiv or nicht_aktiv. Obviously, the values are specific to my car, but still...

Roof Function Center (FZD) and Rear Tailgate Function Module (HKFM) attached. Roof Function Center has "OBD Alarm" under 3002 DWA. I'll test coding this to nicht_aktiv. Based on other threads on the web, it should allow me to leave my OBD dongle plugged in without triggering the alarm (I use BimmerLink to sometimes open the flap).

I would appreciate it. I can then figure out what is different between ours and see what bits are flipped to give you, or I, more/less options!

Guys: in my 2019 X3 in Beemercode one of the default driving settings is Adaptive. However, on my center console, I don't have the "Adaptive" switch like there is for Comfort, Sports Plus, etc. So, if it shows up as available in Beemercode, does that mean I DO have it and what would be the effect of using it? Would I have to code evertime I used it after I switched to one of the other modes and wanted to go back? Thanks!!!

Guys can someone help me out.
Im trying to remove “welcome bmw driver” pop up picture.
I disabled driver profile but that welcome screen still on a start up!
I removed all warnings notifications only this left !

Also is there anyway to turn off front left and right tiny yellow led light To make it much more cleaner look of the headlights. My friend did that with coding on my F32.

It says adaptive mode comes with adaptive suspension. Not sure if that is just marketing or not.

Anyone found a way to code the ventilated seats? I found some other threads where you could adjust the set temps on other BMW's with good results. Couldn't find anything for the G01 (and I did search this thread).

Sorry, missed this earlier...

I'd say the driving experience is 'more appropriate' and more generally much better... Putting the fuse back in temporarily re-enabled ASD before I coded it which was a nice opportunity just to be sure and yea, imo, no question. There's still enough pleasant mechanical noise and exhaust note without ASD.

While the accentuation of exhaust chatter is a bit of fun in Sport mode, the constant groaning and moaning and droning the rest of the time is just stressful and irrelevant noise. Yes, the exhaust note is more subtle always (the X3 seems to be a well-insulated car) but it's definitely still there popping and snorting when you're leaning into Sport mode or firing off manual shifts. It's still a riot (and gets a hoot from my daughters). The biggest difference is how near-dead-quiet the X3 is in those very non-sporty occasions, when just mushing along on a freeway journey or idling around in traffic doing errands.

As Gugin observed, audio is subjectively clearer as well... Surely has to do with the speakers being fully dedicated to producing music rather than also pretending to be an engine.

Me too, the exhaust and engine sound are loud enough in all Sport modes without ASD. Also, several of us have commented that the stereo sound is cleaner too.

Pretty sure the Vseats on the X3 are just a fan.
