That's what I'm thinking... I'll stick with an X3 if I want a mid-size SUV from BMW.

I like the X3 (except the dashboard that was made for my grandma), and I love the looks of the X6, now this car "X4" looks ugly, maybe is the angle of the pic, but it does not look like the prototype that I saw in Munich on my euro delivery
Im happy with my sweet F30 :-)

I am interested to know what car all these people bashing the X3 and X4 would buy if they had 2 kids and lived in a cold weather area. I think the X3 is one of the best looking in its segment, especially with a M Sport package. Beats the Q5 and the GLK.

That is one hell of a hideous truck!
They should hang the guys at the X vehicle division. I can't understand how they go from designing the incredible 2-series to this??? a vehicle that serves absolutely no purpose and is simply to cater to a niche demand of poor dreamers. First the X1, now this. |

The X3 is a great small SUV, and I agree it looks best with the msport package, but a nicely optioned X3 msport is 55k, which means this X4 with msport will prob be closer to 60k. That's 60k for a car with less cargo room and smaller rear seats than X3. For that kind of money, I'd personally rather have 528i with xdrive, which will have more trunk space, much bigger back seat, and cost less.

Looks promising....
Cars like X6 or X4 cater to a specific crowd, they laugh in the face of practicality and for that very reason people buy them. They are sexy and expensive fashion statements unlike their plain looking, more utilitarian siblings which score high on cargo volume. Benz (MLC) and Audi (Q6) are around the corner.
