Are you having them install, what was the estimate?

Local performance shop who is an authorized Dinan installer will be doing the work. Quoted 5 hours of labor.

Just labor. I am scratching my head on how they came to that number.

Over $200/hr labor rate. Yikes. BMW of SF and BMW of Manhattan were once up there but I haven't really been keeping track in recent years.

This is Steve Dinan's shop in Mountain View, Bavarium Autoworks.

I am going to keep shopping around in hopes to find a reasonable performance shop or just bit the bullet and pick up a cheap coilover compressor.

It's not likely they want to do the work...so they threw that number out to see if you'll bite.

Tempted to get this with the Axleback. Is the axleback in stock? Also, how different is the non-comp to the comp suspension settings (I know the roll bar sizes are different) where we may see issues? I'm tempted to sell my car and pick up a comp.

Axleback is on backorder. One of many exhausts in that situation. Demand has far exceeded capacity of recent and with supply chain the way it is right now its a nasty recipe. =/

OEM springs between the X3M and X3MC are identical. The difference is in EDC programming and how dampening is controlled there (slightly sitffer on the comp).

at 5 hours of labor that's a $400/hr labor rate.

Alignments are typically around $200 give or take.

BMW dealership book time for springs on the platform is around 10 hours— hence my $200/hr rough estimate.

It may not be owned by him anymore but that shop was his before the name changes and still shows up in his Carbahn directory.

Nothing to really share. Still in testing / development. Plus we, and everyone else, still have the lockout of 2021+ DME to contend with that will affect a fair amount of customers.
