In my market, the M40 comes as standard with 21" 718M, so could be a stock "global" image kinda thing.

Up til this morning I was stuck at "production begins" like you. Seems like my car is actually physically built and the production progress website just really lags behind a lot or is not updated that expeditiously.

Have you entered your VIN on the BMW Driver's Guide (iOS/Android) or decoded your VIN on mdecoder.com?

Usually once it's been produced, you should be able to enter the VIN specific driver's guide (shows items only pertaining to your VIN) and also decode the VIN to see the options or any deletions it may have.

Just called the Genius. My X4 entered production on July 28th and production will be completed approx August 8th. Should have it approx 2 weeks later. Nice!!

Unfortunately the VIN hasn't made it to either of those yet. If its just being completed today (or at least soon, if the production estimate is off), then I guess its definitely possible that the car hasn't officially been "made" yet. At this point I'm just compulsively checking the status to hype myself up hah

So mine entered production on the 24th. It is expected to be finished on the 8th. So figure 2 weeks to build and 2 weeks to arrival after that.

I was able to look mine up by the VIN on mdecoder.com. Has all the options I ordered. It also has the 4AW Sensate Dash, so appears to be standard on the m40i. The production build date was 7/30 and is currently waiting for currier assignment.

Philadelphia suburbs. Google says 9.5 hours to the dealer from the SC plant. But I’m guessing there are some stops along the way

That's awesome 4AW is standard on M40i's, I wonder if a newer price sheet reflects that. That was one option I was kind of kicking myself for not selecting.
