Missing Lumbar Support for 2023
Would anyone walk away from a X3 M40i if it had missing "driver" lumbar support.
We have so far a confirmation from "1" people who just got their 2023 with no driver lumbar support. Curious how others feel about this as our car is $65k+, |

If this is indeed true, BMW Genius team and dealers were never made aware that BMW was taking the feature off - even though we suspected it based on missing option from our builds. If anyone from genius team or SA had told me that driver lumbar is missing, I would have "upgraded" to a seat that had them. How am I supposed to know before committing to $80K car if my back will hurt 3 weeks later because of no lumbar.

The BMW website continues to list both 1) driver lumbar support and 2) wifi hotspot as *standard* features on the M40i (wifi hotspot is also listed as standard on the lower X3 trims). If they list a feature as standard, especially one as basic as power lumbar, then I don’t think it’s acceptable to exclude it without some kind of advanced warning. And no, it’s not enough to issue a blanket “supply chain issues are bad” warning on the website. |

To answer your question though, no I would not walk away. Seems like all comparable brands are having these issues. We were looking at an SQ5 that had no blind spot monitoring…

To be fair there is no confirmation it is indeed driver seat lumbar, the OP in the Week 32 thread just stated "lumbar". Driver-side lumbar is still referenced as standard in the June '23 order guide.

Agreed. Better to wait and get confirmation from all the folks who are getting their deliveries early next week. It was also not clear if poster in Week 32 thread had Sensatec, leather or vented seats and that can make a difference.

Someone posted this pic on the week 32 thread of their 2023.
So they have sensatec curious if the "free" seats dont have it but the upgraded leather seats "come" with lumbar. Looks like we need someone to share a picture of their 2023 with "leather" seats to see what the button controls look like. |

I think the lack of the button is equally as disturbing. In the past I've ordered options just so as not to have a blank plastic space there :-)
However, yes the fact it's not there on the passenger side is bad but slightly take it. If ny driver's seat were missing it I'd probably not have it unless they could fix it. That said - what other option if others are doing the same :-/ |
