Anyone looking for a Brand new 2022 X3M Competition NOW?!

My dealer just this minute called me and told me he has a Brooklyn Grey Metallic X3MC incoming from the port that a customer backed out of last minute. He called and asked me if I knew anyone looking and I am posting this up.

85.5k MSRP and I think you can get it at MSRP. They might try to upcharge you a little and "force" you into paint correction and ceramic coating for a little bit more, but maybe not.

Sakhir Orange/Black Extended Merino Leather and Brooklyn Grey Metallic.

Nice combo and nicely spec'ed car. Message me if interested, car is on East Coast.

Contacted the CA - they definitely want MSRP + 3k over sticker for maintenance plan or detail work. Also, asking for inflated MF - .00230 (today is .00190).

Nice build though.

No mark-up customers are easy to find. Just make the damn sale!

Never pay any markup for a BMW if you are trading in. They will make more than enough money selling your old car. If they insist, go find another dealer.

If people don’t pay it dealers will stop doing it. The problem is people will pay it and thus this happens. Look at the new Corvette’s. Some dealers are marking these up 100k but people pay that. In 3 years there will be huge discounts on me Corvette’s. If it were not for COVID and the chip shortage Corvettes would already be discounted. What’s the solution?

1.) Stop paying over MSRP. If there is no demand a dealer won’t be able to do this.

2.)Manufacturers sell new cars direct to customers and the dealers only become service centers.

I do not blame the sales associates. They are just doing what the owner wants.

I'm right there with you with item number one. The latter is a whole other ball game.

While I don't doubt that someone will purchase the car at a 5k markup, at this point they are paying for convenience. I'm sure that with a few touchpoints with various dealers, one can find a comparable vehicle at MSRP.

I was at a dealer a few months ago and they wanted $7.5k over. After saying no they knocked it down to $3.5k but that was still $3.5k too high. Someone eventually bought it a few weeks later but I don't know if they still had the markup or not. To your point, there are people willing to pay over sticker so the dealers should hold out for them but the pendulum swings both ways

Sometimes a dealer will sell at MSRP but then tack on options you don’t want. Ceramic coating is a big one as well as the BMW “options” like the first aid kit, floating center caps, USB cables, door projectors etc. Since all the BMW “options” show on the window sticker there is no way to refuse these options. Some dealers will also add more to the BMW interest rate. I can’t say I blame them with car prices so high in general.
